Islam is indeed the religion of truth

One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
As Salam Alaikum,
As a student in high school, and a proud Muslimah, I am often asked, "Why is it that you are so faithful to your
religion?", or "how is it that you know that Islam is THE religion for
you?", or even, "how do you know that Islam is the religion of truth?" When answering these questions, I try my best to give
appropriate answers, but it's difficult because I know that these are not the "right"
answers. In other words, how would you answer questions
similar to these, in a way as to explain to these kafirs
that Islam is INDEED, the religion of truth.Please reply soon.

Answer:
Islam is indeed the religion of
truth
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran: Chapter 16, Surah
An-Nahl Ayat 125:Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and excellent
admonition and argue with people in the best manner. Your Lord knows best who
has gone astray from His Way and who is Rightly
guided.
The believers are commanded by
Allah Subhanah to invite to the
The believers must first and
foremost make it clear to the disbelievers that Islam is not the deen originated by/for the Arabs, or by the Last Messenger of
Allah, Mohamed ar-Rasool
Allah (saws) alone! All the Messengers
of Allah Subhanah who came before him (saws), including the first
man on earth and the natural father of all mankind, Prophet Adam (a.s.), came and
preached the exact same deen and way of life; and the preaching of all the Messengers of
Allah Subhanah was: ‘Worship the One Lord Who
Created, Alone, and do not associate any
other with Him!’.
Allah Says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 131-138:
131 Behold! His Lord said to him (Ibraheem
(a.s.): "Bow (thy will to me in ‘Islam”)" He said:
"I bow (my will in ‘Islam’) to the Lord and Cherisher of the
universe."
132 And this was the
legacy that Abraham left to his sons and so did Jacob; "O my sons! Allah
hath chosen the faith for you; then die not except in
the faith of Islam."
133 Were ye witnesses
when death appeared before Jacob? Behold
he said to his sons: "What will ye worship after
me?" They said: "We shall
worship thy Allah and the Allah of thy fathers of Abraham Isma`il and Isaac the one (true) Allah to Him we bow (in
Islam)."
134 That was a People
that hath passed away.
They shall reap the fruit of what they did and ye
of what ye do! of their merits there is no question in
your case!
135 They say:
"Become Jews or Christians if ye would be guided (to
salvation)." Say thou: "Nay!
(I would rather) the religion of Abraham the true and he joined not gods with
Allah."
136 Say ye: "We
believe in Allah and the revelation given to us and to Abraham Isma`il Isaac Jacob and the Tribes
and that given to Moses and Jesus and that given to (all) Prophets from their
Lord we make no difference between one and another of them and we bow to Allah
(in Islam)."
137 So if they believe as
ye believe they are indeed on the right path; but if they turn back it is they
who are in schism; but Allah will suffice thee as against them and He is the
All-Hearing the All- Knowing.
(Our religion is) the
baptism of Allah; and who can baptize better than Allah? and
it is He whom we worship.
The deen
of Islam is not a deen invented by man; but it is a Way of
Life prescribed and approved by the One Who Created Life! Which deen or Way
of Life can be better or truer than this?
What Way of Life can be better than obedience and absolute submission to
the One Who Created?
Ask the disbelievers to prove
that their deen or way of life is prescribed and
approved by the One Who Created Life? …and you will see that most of them will
say that they are only following the deen as they
found their forefathers following! And
that is the modus-operandi of the ignorant!
In the matters of the world, these same people always strive to outdo
their fathers and forefathers….if their father was a street-cleaner, or farmer,
or a barber, etc., do their offsprings say that they want to grow up to be
street-cleaners or farmers or barbers???
Man uses his intelligence and
power of reasoning to do and to be the best of his ability; then why, why indeed,
when it comes to following a deen or religion
he refuses to use his faculty of intelligence and remains satisfied to follow
the deen he found his forefathers following!
But this is not a new answer of
the ignorant; for
this was exactly what every ignorant and arrogant people said to every
Messenger of Allah when they invited mankind to the
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 43 Surah Zukhruf verse 22-25:Nay! But they say, “We found our forefathers on a
way and we are only walking in their footsteps.” Even so, whenever before you We sent a warner to a habitation,
its people of means said, “We have found our forefathers on a way and we
are only following in their footsteps.” Every Prophet asked them, “Will you still go
on following the same old way even if I guide you to a more right way than that
you found your forefathers following?”
They replied, “We disbelieve the religion with which you have been
sent.” Consequently, We took vengeance on them. Just consider what was the
end of those who denied.
Allah says in the Holy Quran
Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah
verse 170-171:When it is said to them, “Follow the
Commands that Allah has sent down”, they
reply, “We will follow only what we found our forefathers practising.” Well, will they go on following their
forefathers even though they did not use common sense and did not find the
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 31 Surah Luqman verse 21:And when it is said to them, “Follow what Allah has sent down”, they say, “We shall only follow that upon which we found our forefathers.” What! Will they still be following them even if Shaitaan had been calling them to the raging Fire?
It is common logic that when
someone invents or creates a product, the people follow the manual given by
the inventor or creator to use the product efficiently. Try using the Linux manual for operating
‘Microsoft Windows’ and see the mess it will create! Or try using the
When a simple product of the
earth is run and operated by the manual given by its inventor or creator; then how can the
most complex of creations (human beings) be efficiently functional without the
manual of its Creator? And the Creator
revealed His Manual and named it the Al-Quran!
After you have invited them with
logic and common-sense,
invite them to read the Divine Manual with understanding even
only once! If they sincerely seek the
answers to the questions they challenge you with, and if Allah Subhanah
Wills to guide them to the Truth; Insha Allah, they
will be guided aright.
But, my beloved sister, you must
understand that it is not always easy to convert a person to the Truth, if he/she is not
sincerely seeking the Truth! It is not
always easy to convert a person to the Truth, if all they ever knew about religion
was the practice, rites, rituals, and ways of their forefathers! Our duty, as was the duty of even every
Messenger of Allah that ever came: was to invite mankind to the Truth of
Al-Islam with wisdom and extreme patience.
To accept or deny our invitation is a choice the person has to make himself.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 18 Surah Kahf verse 29:Proclaim, “This (Quran) is the Truth from your Lord: now whosoever wills may accept it, and whosoever wills may reject it.” (As for those who reject it) We have prepared for such workers of iniquity a fire whose flames have encircled them. There, if they ask for water , they will be given a drink like the dregs of oil, which will burn their mouths! What an evil drink, and what an evil abode!
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.
