Different responses of istikhara
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
AssalamOalaikum, i want to ask that is it possible that istikhara performed for same issue give different results? Actually my class fellow wants to marry me. His family came to my home and they were satisfied with everything. they said they will perform Istikhara and will inform about the decision accordingly. my sister and i did istikhara. my sister told me that the reply is positive. In response to istikhara which i did i see a dream that i am stitching a white cloth with a needle. i did not understand the meaning of that and my heart was also not telling me anything wrong...so i tought the reply is positive. on the other side, his sister and father did istikhara and they tell him that they got the answer in negative. so they will perform according to their results. i told him about my istikhara and my sister's istikhara (as he is my class fellow) and he also told me too. His mind and heart is also not satisfied with his family's result. He thinks we should perform istikhara again. Can we do it again? and also tell me is it possible to have a different result on both side?

Answer:
Different responses of istikhara
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
There is no way to determine a divine answer after performing istikhara. The istikhara should be performed and then one should carry on doing whatever he has prayed for. It is believed Allah swt will make the path easy which is acceptable to Him and good for your deen and akhirah.
There is no such thing as different results of istikhara. You are to carry on doing what you prayed for in the belief that if it is not good for your religion and hereafter then Allah swt will protect you from doing it. InshaAllah.
