I m thrilled by this Hadith I never knew this... I have always heard people saying the 7generations of Hafiz will be in paradise, while this hadith is quite contrary... I dont mean to argue but would like to be clearifed on this contradiction.

Answer:

Seven generations of hafiz in paradise

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 6.545 Narrated by Uthman

The Prophet (saws) said, "The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it."

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 2137 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "If anyone recites a letter from Allah's Book he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a tenfold reward. I do not say that 'Alif-Lam-Mim' are one letter, but 'Alif' is a letter, 'Lam' is a letter. and 'Mim' is a letter."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 6.459 Narrated by Aisha

The Prophet (saws) said, "Such a person as recites the Qur'an and masters it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Paradise)! And such a person who exerts himself to learn the Qur'an by heart, and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward."

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 1448 Narrated by Mu'adh al-Juhani

The Prophet (saws) said: ‘If anyone recites the Qur'an and acts according to its contents, on the Day of Judgment his parents will be given to wear a crown whose light is better than the light of the sun in the dwellings of this world if it were among you. So what do you think of him who acts according to this?’

Your Statement: ….I have always heard people saying the 7generations of Hafiz will be in paradise….

As virtuous and meritorious the striving of securing the whole of the Glorious Quran to one’s memory or ‘hifz’ may be in the Sight of Allah Subhanah, respected sister in Islam, in light of the absolutely clear guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, we assure you that there is absolutely no one for whom and no deed in which even one generation (leave alone seven generations!) of that person will be rewarded with Paradise!!!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 164:

164 …..Every soul draws the meed of its acts on none but itself: no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. Your goal in the end is toward Allah: He will tell you the truth of the things wherein ye disputed.

If one has done the necessary striving to secure the whole of the Glorious Quran to one’s memory, and that person acts on the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah; that person alone will have his due rewards in the Presence of his Lord Most High……his children and his descendants will have the rewards of their own deeds, and will have absolutely no share in the rewards of the deeds done by their father or ancestor! Every soul draws the ‘meed’ of its acts on none but itself!!!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 123-124:

123 Then guard yourselves against a Day when one soul shall not avail another, nor shall compensation be accepted from it, nor shall intercession profit it, nor shall anyone be helped (by another)!

124 And remember that Ibraheem (a.s.) was tried by his Lord with certain Commands which he fulfilled; He (Allah Subhanah) said: "I will make thee (O Ibraheem (a.s.)) an ‘Imam’ to the nations." He (Prophet Ibraheem (a.s.)) pleaded: "And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He (Allah Subhanah) Answered: "But My Promise is not within the reach of the evil-doers (from amongst your descendants)."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 6.294 Narrated by Abu Huraira

Allah's Messenger (saws) got up when the Verse of the Quran: "And warn your tribe of near kindred..." (26.214) was revealed and said, "O people of Quraish! Save yourselves! I cannot save you from Allah (if you disobey Him)! O Bani Abu Manaf! I cannot save you from Allah (if you disobey Him)! O Abbas (r.a., the paternal uncle of the Prophet (saws)), the son of 'Abdul Muttalib! I cannot save you from Allah (if you disobey Him)! O Safiyah (r.a.,the paternal aunt of Allah's Messenger (saws))! I cannot save you from Allah (if you disobey Him)! O Fatimah (r.a.), the daughter of Muhammad (saws)! Ask what you wish from my property, but I cannot save you from Allah (if you disobey Him)."

Respected sister in Islam, no one, and we reiterate, absolutely no one shall attain the ultimate reward of Paradise just because they happen to be the child or the descendant of a noble and righteous slave of Allah, not even if that noble and righteous slave happens to be one amongst the mightiest Prophets of the Lord Most Majestic Most Supreme!!!

In light of the absolutely clear guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, we assure you sister, that there is absolutely nothing in the Quran and the Sunnah which even remotely implies that ‘one generation’ (leave alone seven generations!!!) of one who secures the Glorious Quran to one’s memory will be rewarded with Paradise!

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
