WHEN VERY STICT STIPULATED RULES AND LAWS ARE ENFORCED IN CERTAIN EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS IN CERTAIN MUSLIM OR NON MUSLIN COUNTRIES, IS IT RIGHT OR FAIR FOR ONE TO GO AGAINST IT... ?

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

I am very happy, Alhamdhullilah, that you are doing a yomen srvice on your programme.

There are so many twisted version circulating to the whims and fancies of an individual about religion, with so many factions which have arosen.

This specially catches the younger generation who are really lost and want to find some easy sort of path wheather it is correct or not.

Colleges, Schools, Universities or in any Institution has certain rules, regulation and laws have been laid out to follow.

Being a muslim or not, I think these rules have to be followed. Its only them discipline and law and order will prevail, and when one gradutes or passes out, He or She will be a fully feldged person with good manners and discipline and will be able to fit into any situation.

Growing a beard and wearing the trouser above ankle level is not permitted as a rule and law in most of these educational establishements which I have mentioned above. But, still some of our muslim Brothers tend to ignore these stipulated rules and laws, and are having great problems at places of study and finally are compelled to leave. Our Holy Prophet Muhammed (sal) has mentioned the importance of his... therfeore, Its Sunnathul Rasool (sal)... Please correct me if I am wrong.

To me "Dunya and Deen" goes hand in hand, otherwise Allah (swt) wouldnt have created us and Dunya as well. Its how Man uses the Dunya is what is important.

Answer:

Obey creator or created

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: WHEN VERY STICT STIPULATED RULES AND LAWS ARE ENFORCED IN CERTAIN EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS IN CERTAIN MUSLIM OR NON MUSLIN

COUNTRIES, IS IT RIGHT OR FAIR FOR ONE TO GO AGAINST IT... ?

Respected brother in Islam, if the man-made rules, regardless of whether they are made by one’s parents, or one’s school, or by those who are in authority in the land, etc…..if these man-made rules do not violate the laws of Shariah, it would be the duty of the believers to obey and follow these laws.

But if these man-made rules and regulations, absolutely regardless of who makes them, violate or demand that one go against any Command of Allah and His Messenger (saws)…..not only would it be fair and right for the believers to reject and deny them, it would be their duty unto their Lord to do so…..for none, and we reiterate, absolutely none in creation has the right to make laws over, above and/or superior to the Laws made by the Lord Creator Himself!

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3696 Narrated by An-Nawwas ibn Sam'an

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "A creature is not to be obeyed when it involves disobedience to the Creator."

If one holds, accepts, or Allah forbid willingly obeys and follows a man-made law which is in defiance of the Laws of Allah and His Messenger (saws)…..such a person would be guilty of the abomination of disobedience to the Creator!

If the educational institution where one is enrolled to study, or the land where one resides, etc. demands that their self-made laws which are in violation of the Laws of Shariah be obeyed; and the disobedience of their self-made laws would earn them an expulsion from their institution or their land…..then the believers should know that the Lord Most Majestic, Most Supreme too has His Own Law, and He Has Decreed in Justice and in Truth that those who willingly accept and obey other laws in defiance of His Law will be expelled from the Eternal and Everlasting Gardens of Paradise!

The decision is entirely upto the individual: either he chooses to obey the self-made laws in defiance of the Laws of his Creator and stay with this particular university or reside in this particular land, and thus risk being expelled from the Eternal Gardens of Paradise…..or honor the Laws of his Creator and risk being expelled from his university or his country!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 24:

24 Say: ‘If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your mates, or your kindred, or the wealth that ye have gained, or the commerce in which ye fear a decline, or the dwellings in which ye delight…. are dearer to you than Allah or His Messenger and the striving in His Cause; then wait until Allah brings about His Decision: and Allah guides not the rebellious!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
