Answer:

Marriage between Syed and Sunni

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: How can we convince our sister-in-laws family that this marriage is not haraam

Allah Subhanah has made it permissible for a believing man to seek in marriage any non-mehram believing single woman; regardless of what caste one claims to belong to in Islam.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) himself got his own paternal aunt’s daughter, Syyedah Zainab (r.a.) to marry his freed slave Hadrat Zaid ibn Harith (r.a.).

It would be absolutely ignorance to call a marriage between two non-mehram single believers haraam, just because one claims to be a sunni and the other a syedah! If all the Shariah conditions of the Nikaah were met, the marriage will be deemed absolutely legal in the sight of Allah Subhanah.

Your Question: my sister in law says if her brother finds out where she is living,he would kill both of them. please guide us in this matter

It would be best to consult the police or the legal authorities and seek their protection in this case, if the married couple fear for their lives at the hands of the girls relatives.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
