How to learn Arabic for quran

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 44 Surah Dukhan verse 58:

We have made this Book (Al-Quran) easy in your own tongue so that they may ponder and take good counsel.

Dear and beloved Brother in Islam, although it would be nigh impossible for one to master the Arabic language, leave alone the linguistic and intrinsic beauty of the Glorious Quran…..the fact remains that if one wishes to understand and take guidance from this Glorious Book, it is amongst the easiest and best things one can and should strive to do, provided one is willing to invest one’s time and willing to fulfill its due striving.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 218 Narrated by Anas ibn Malik

Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘The seeking of (Islamic) knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim.’

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 6.545 Narrated by Uthman

The Prophet said, "The best among you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it."

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 257 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr

Allah's Messenger (saws) happened to pass by two groups (of muslims) in the mosque and he (saws) said: ‘Both of them are good, but one is superior to the other. One group is supplicating Allah and praying to Him. If He so wills, He will confer upon them and if He so wills He will withhold. So far as those who are acquiring the understanding of religion and its knowledge and are busy in teaching the ignorant, they are superior. Verily I have been sent as a teacher.’ He (saws) then sat down amongst them.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 256 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: ‘Acquiring (Islamic) knowledge in company for an hour in the night is better than spending the whole night in (nafl) prayer.’

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 249 Narrated by Al-Hasan al-Basri

Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘He whom death overtakes while he is engaged in acquiring knowledge with a view to reviving Islam with the help of it, there will be one degree between him and the Prophets in Paradise.’

Your Question: Please guide me,how can i learn arabic for understanding quran.

Beloved brother, if you sincerely wish to learn the Arabic language in your efforts to understand the Quran, it would only be prudent to at least, at an initial stage, to join an Arabic language class so that you are made aware of the nuances and intricacies of the beautiful Arabic language.

If you find that difficult to do, a good Arabic-English dictionary might indeed help, but in our humble opinion, because of the utter and sheer depth of the Arabic language, that would not be the easiest route to take in your efforts to understand the Glorious Quran as it is being recited in the Arabic language.

In our humble opinion, one of the easiest ways to comprehend the basic message of the Glorious Quran is to simultaneously hear the recitation of the Glorious Quran being recited through an audio in the Arabic language, while reading and following the translation of what is being recited in the language one understands best. Because the Words used and the Message of the Glorious Quran is quite repetitive in nature, in our humble opinion if one completes this exercise of simultaneously hearing the recitation in Arabic and following the translation of the recitation in a language they understand best….and one can invest their due striving to complete this exercise through the entire Quran for a couple of times, one will be well on their path and mission to be able to understand the message of the Glorious Quran as it is being recited in the Arabic language.

We reiterate again that the best way is to join a study group or a class dedicated to learning the Arabic language of the Quran….but if one finds that difficult to do, one should give a try to simultaneously hearing the audio recitation of the Arabic Quran and reading and following that recitation in a language they understand best. And Allah Alone Knows Best.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
