Can you please clarify the meaning of Imaan

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Can you please clarify the meaning of Imaan,or isn't it the part of imaan to love our belowed prophet ( Peace be upon him) Mohammad (S.A.W) who has shown us the right path of Islam to follow and worship one and only Almighty Allah (Subhanah) then why people talk about denial to love Prophet ( Peace be upon him) and reluctant to admit his miracle and says love only Allah (Subhanah) alone isn't they are lacking in Imaan?

Servant.

Answer:

Imaan love pm

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzab verse 21:

There is indeed the best example for you to follow in the Messenger of Allah, for every such person looks forward to Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah much.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisa verse 79-80:

We have sent you (O Mohamed) as a Messenger to mankind, and Allah’s witness suffices for this. Whoever obeys the Messenger, in fact obeys Allah, and whoever turns away from him, he will be accountable for his deeds. Anyhow, we have not sent you (O Mohamed) to be a guardian over them.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verse 31-32:

O Prophet, tell the people, “If you sincerely love Allah, follow me. Then Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, for He is All Forgiving, All Merciful.” Also say to them, “Obey Allah and His Messenger.” And if, in spite of this, they do not accept your invitation, warn them that Allah does not love those, who refuse to obey Him and His Messenger.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verse 157:

(So, now mercy has been assigned to those) who follow this Messenger (Mohamed (saws)), the Gentile Prophet, whose mention they shall find in the Torah and the Gospel with them. He enjoins them to do good and forbids them from evil; he makes pure things lawful for them and impure things unlawful; he relieves them of their burdens and frees them from the shackles (of rites and rituals) that bound them. For this reason, those alone who believe in him, support him, succour him, and follow the Light that has been sent down with him shall attain true ‘success’.

Your Question: …..or isn't it the part of imaan to love our belowed prophet ( Peace be upon him) Mohammad (S.A.W)…… isn't they are lacking in Imaan?

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.15 Narrated by Anas

The Prophet (saws) said, "Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have tasted the sweetness (delight) of faith:

1. The one to whom Allah and His Messenger becomes dearer than anything else.

2. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah's Sake.

3. Who hates to revert to disbelief as he hates to be thrown into the fire."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.13 Narrated by Abu Huraira

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "By Him in Whose Hands my life is, none of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father and his children!"

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.14 Narrated by Anas

The Prophet (saws) said "None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children, and all of mankind."

The Noble Prophet Mohamed (saws) was sent with the Truth, and Allah is our witness brother, he (saws) spoke nothing but the absolute truth! The Messenger of Allah (saws) did not need to swear or take an oath in the Name of Allah to declare the Truth….but to stress the importance and significance of the statement he was about to make, the Messenger of Allah (saws) called Allah Subhanah to witness and swore on oath in the Blessed Name of Him in Whose Hands was his (saw’s) life, that none can possess ‘emaan’ or faith unless and until that person loves Prophet Mohamed (saws) more than their own father, their children, (and all of mankind combined)!

To love, obey, and follow the Last and Final Messenger of Allah, Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws) is an integral, unconditional, and the very essence of ‘emaan’ or faith….. and if there is one who claims to possess faith and does not love the Noble Prophet Mohamed (saws) more than everything else in creation, Allah is our witness brother, such a person neither has faith nor has such a person tasted the sweetness of faith!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verse 107:

107 We sent thee (O Mohamed (saws)) not, but as a Mercy for the ‘aalemeen’ (absolutely everything in creation)!

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
