Does not praying at the beginning of the appointed time mean that one's du'aa' will not be answered?

Dear Brothers & Sisters,
As-Salaamu-Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Is there any evidence that one who delays prayer from its recommended time (but prays in its legal time) and who makes post-salah du'ah does not have his/her du'ah accepted?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

Shaykh Abd-Allaah ibn Qaood answered this question for us as follows:

Praise be to Allaah.

We do not know of any evidence to that effect. Allaah may answer the duaa of one who calls on Him in desperation even if he is a kaafir. And Allaah knows best.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah's Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
