Hadith white paradise black hell

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

As salam walaykum. I would like to know if the following Hadith teaches racism?

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 119: Narrated by AbudDarda`

"Allah`s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Allah created Adam when He had to create him and He struck his right shoulder and there emitted from it white offspring as if they were white ants. He struck his left shoulder and there emitted from it the black offspring as if they were charcoal. He then said (to those who had been emitted) from the right (shoulder): For Paradise and I do not mind. Then He said to those (who had been emitted) from his left shoulder: They are for Hell and I do not mind." Transmitted by Ahmad.

Also, is this hadith: saheeh, da`if, hasan, Mawdo etc?

Thanks for your time.

Answer:

Hadith white paradise black hell

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

The Glorious Quran is absolutely clear regarding who will be granted Paradise by the Mercy of Allah Subhanah, and who will deserve the Eternal Fire of Hell.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 101 Surah Al-Qaria Verses 6-11:

6 Then he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy

7 Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction.

8 But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light

9 Will have his home in a (bottomless) pit.

10 And what will explain to thee what this is?

11 (It is) a Fire Blazing fiercely!

Neither does the Lord All-Just create a race, or a color, or a people for Paradise or Hell, nor does the Judgment and the Determination of the Lord All-Knowing All-Just based on the nationality, color, race, tribe, height, language, etc. of the person……. but rather The Lord Most Just’s Judgment is based solely on the state of one’s belief and deeds.

If the above quoted hadith is taken to signify that the inhabitants of both Paradise and Hell Fire will be from amongst the descendants of Adam (a.s.), it is a fair determination.

But if the quoted statements are taken to mean that the Lord Created one race or color of people for Paradise and another for Hell, or that all people of one race or color would go to Paradise and the other to Hell Fire, etc…..then such determinations are absolutely against the clear Guidance of the Glorious Quran and cannot be accepted as authentic.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
