Answer:

Virtue and sin

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 188:

Do not usurp one another’s property by unjust means, nor offer it (bribes) to the judges so that you may devour knowingly and unjustly a portion of the goods of others.

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 3573 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As

The Messenger of Allah (saws) invoked the curse of Allah on the one who bribes and the one who takes bribe.

As grave and as heinous the abomination and crime of demanding or taking bribes are in the Sight of Allah Subhanah, the evil act by itself would not obliterate or render worthless the other good deeds done by the believer in the Scales of Justice of the Lord Most Majestic, Most Supreme.

If one commits a transgression and subsequently turns back unto their Lord in ‘taubah’, seeks sincere forgiveness, and amends their conduct; it is expected that they will find their Lord Forgiving and Merciful. But if one dies in a state whereby one did not seek repentance for their major sins, their case is with Allah Subhanah Alone….If He Wills He may forgive them, and if He Wills, He may extract full retribution from them.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verse 47:

47 We shall set up the Scales of Justice for the Day of Judgment so that not a soul will be dealt with unjustly in the least. And if there be (no more than) the weight of a mustard seed (good or evil), We will bring it (to account): and enough are We to take account.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 160:

160 He that doeth good shall have ten times as much to his credit: he that doeth evil shall only be recompensed according to his evil. No wrong shall be done unto (any of) them.

Every good and every evil will be assigned a ‘weight’ by the Lord Most Just on the Day of Judgment…..and all of one’s deeds, good or evil, which one did in one’s life will be placed in that Supreme ‘Scale of Justice’ in the Presence of their Lord. He whose balance of good deeds is found heavier will, by the Mercy of their Lord, be granted Paradise; and he whose balance of evil is found heavier will face The Unbearable Wrath and Anger and The Punishment of their Lord.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 101 Surah Al-Qariah verses 6-11:

6 Then he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy

7 Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction.

8 But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light

9 Will have his home in a (bottomless) pit.

10 And what will explain to thee what this is?

11 (It is) a Fire, blazing fiercely!

There are three acts or deeds which render all of one’s supposedly ‘good’ deeds absolutely worthless and fruitless in the Just Scales of Allah Subhanah…..

  1. Shirk (or associating other gods with Allah Subhanah)
  2. Kufr or disbelief.
  3. Nifaaq or hypocrisy.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 18 Surah Kahf verses 102-106:

102 Do the disbeleivers think that they can take My servants as protectors besides Me? Verily We have prepared Hell for the disbelievers for (their) entertainment.

103 Say: "Shall we tell you of those who lose most in respect of their deeds?

104 Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their works?

105 They are those who deny the Signs of their Lord and the fact of their having to meet Him (in the Hereafter): vain will be their works nor shall We on the Day of Judgment give them any weight.

106 That is their reward: Hell; because they rejected Faith and took My Signs and My Messengers by way of jest.”

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumar verse 65:

65 But it has already been revealed to thee as it was to those before thee "If thou wert to join gods with Allah truly fruitless will be thy work (in life) and thou wilt surely be in the ranks of those who are losers.”

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verse 5 (part);

If anyone rejects faith fruitless is his work and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who are losers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 19:

Then when fear comes thou wilt see them (the hypocrites) looking unto thee; their eyes revolving like (those of) one over whom hovers death, but when the fear is past they will smite you with sharp tongues covetous of goods. Such (hypocrites) have no faith, so Allah has made their deeds of none effect: and that is easy for Allah.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
