Concept of star in Islam.

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Assalamuwalaikum,

Could you please explain the concept of star in Islam? Is it true that reciting surah`s such as surah Al-Baqrah and praying for someone makes their star strong??

Awaiting your reply.

Concept of star in Islam

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

A ‘star’ is no more than a creation of the Lord Creator, just like the other creations of the Lord Creator like the sun, the moon, the planets, the trees, the animals, etc.

A ‘star’ or anything in creation, by itself, does not have the power in the least to bring about any good or evil upon anyone in the absolute least….for all Power and all Strength is in the Sole Domain of the One and Only Lord Creator Who Created, Allah Subhanah wa Taala.

Allah Says in His Holy Quran Chapter 35 Surah Fatir verse 2:

2 What Allah out of His Mercy doth bestow on mankind there is none can withhold: what He doth withhold there is none can grant apart from Him: and He is the Exalted in Power Full of Wisdom.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imraan verse 160:

If Allah helps you none can overcome you: if He forsakes you who is there after that that can help you? In Allah then let believers put their trust.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 51:

Say: "Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has Decreed for us: He is our Protector"; and on Allah let the believers put their trust.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 17:

17 If Allah touch thee with affliction none can remove it but He; if He touch thee with happiness He hath power over all things.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 3:

And put your trust in Allah Alone; and enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

If one believes that a ‘star’ or absolutely anything in creation by itself has the power or the ability to bring about any good or remove any evil from anyone in the least…..such a belief would constitute the absolute abomination and unforgivable crime of ‘shirk’ in the Sight of Allah Subhanah!

Sahih Muslim Hadith 133 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: “Don't you know what your Lord said? Your Lord observed: ‘I (Allah) have never endowed My bondsmen with a favor, but a section amongst them disbelieved it, and said: stars, it was due to the stars!’”

Nothing, and we reiterate, absolutely nothing happens in this Universe…..not even a leaf falls off a plant, nor does the tiniest particle of sand or dust moves from its place without the Precise Will and Permission of The Lord Most Majestic, Most Supreme! And we absolutely assure you in the Blessed Name of the Lord sister, no ‘star’, no ‘planet’, no sun, no moon, no nothing except the Lord Most Majestic, Allah Subhanah, has the Power or Strength to bring about any good or remove any evil from oneself in the absolute least!!!

Your Question: ….Is it true that reciting surah`s such as surah Al-Baqrah and praying for someone makes their star strong??

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 185:

Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent down: this Book is a Perfect Guidance for mankind and consists of clear Teachings which show the Right Way, and are a Criterion of the Truth and falsehood.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 17 Surah Bani Israel verses 9-10:

Indeed, the Quran shows that way which is perfectly straight. To those who believe in it and do good deeds, it gives the good news that there is a great reward for them; and to those who do not believe in the Hereafter, it gives the warning that a painful torment has been made ready for them.

In His Infinite Mercy, the Lord Most Merciful Revealed His Glorious Quran unto mankind as a Book of perfect guidance, and to show mankind the Right and Straight Path. To those who believe and do righteous good deeds in accordance with the Guidance, their Lord has Promised them an unending reward in the Hereafter; but those who deny their Lord and the Hereafter, this Book gives a clear warning of a severe and lasting chastisement in the Presence of their Lord.

We absolutely assure you in the Blessed Name of the Lord sister, the reciting of any Surah/s of the Glorious Quran does not make any ‘star’ strong, nor do the stars or anything else in creation by themselves have the ability to bring any good or remove any evil from anyone in the absolute least! All Power and All Strength is vested in The Blessed Hands of the Lord Most Majestic Alone Who Created!

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
