Assalamu Alaikum,

What is told about the great pyramid of Giza and its builder king Khufu in the holy Quran? I read from somewhere that king Khufu and all his men who built that pyramid died when he ascended the top of the pyramid and Allah ordered Gibrael (A.S.) to destroy them. Can you shed some light on it?

Answer:

What happened to king who built pyramids

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

To the best of our knowledge there is absolutely no mention regarding the ‘Pyramids of Giza’ or the death of its builder King Khufu in either the Glorious Quran or the authentic and established Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws). Allah Alone Knows what happened to King Khufu and the incidents regarding his and his men’s death.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
