Answer:

Working in hotel

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: i understood clearly how to perform ghusl, my question what about if i am using basket instead of tap water where by water from my body drop in water in basket.

The principles of performing the ‘ghusl’ remain the same whatever the source of the water, be it water from a shower, tap water, or water collected in pots or buckets, or even if it happens to be at the lakes or rivers, etc.

If while performing the ‘ghusl’ from a pot or a bucket, if perchance a few drops of water fall into the container, there is absolutely no harm and this does not effect the validity of the ‘ghusl’ in the least.

Your Question: there other question is about i am working in hotel industry where by as the nature of hospitality we have bar in the hotel where by we received our salary from the hotel is it haram?

There are few things or products for which Islam has absolutely ‘zero-tolerance’…..for example, intoxicants, gambling, ‘riba’ (interest), ‘fahisha’ (indecent or shameful acts), etc. and it would be considered absolutely inappropriate for a believer who sincerely believes in Allah and the Last Day to work for to facilitate any thing or act which has clearly been declared as ‘haraam’ or unlawful by Allah and His Messenger (saws).

Thus if one works for or is employed by a business which deals solely in ‘haraam’ products or services, or whose primary business is from unlawful products….for example bars serving alcohol, or gambling casinos, or prostitution dens, or interest-based commercial banks, etc…..without an iota of a doubt, one would share an appropriate burden of the sin for dealing in and facilitating products and services which have been clearly declared as ‘haraam’ by Allah and His Messenger (saws).

Because the basic essence and the business of the hotel industry is to provide accommodation for its guests….and just because the hotel happens to have a bar which serves alcohol…does not render the whole hotel industry or business haraam. If one perchance is employed in the hotel industry, but has absolutely nothing to do with the buying, selling, serving, or recording of haraam products….it would be safe to assume that the wages earned for their service would be from the halaal sources of earnings of the hotel.

Your Question: ….secondly we receive service charge from our employer added to our salary and this service charge come from all outlet including bar, in this issue what am i suppose to do. thirdly can i go pilgrimage (Hajj) from my salary that i receive from the hotel if yes how am i separate service charge from my salary.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 64 Surah Tagabhun verse 16:

16 So fear Allah as much as ye can; listen and obey; and spend in charity for the benefit of your own souls: and those saved from the covetousness of their own souls they are the ones that achieve prosperity.

If one is absolutely convinced that a part of their earnings are derived from the service charge collected from the bars serving haraam products, it would only be piety and righteousness on their part that they estimate that amount and either refuse to take it, or to give it away as charity to cleanse themselves from the impure earnings.

If one’s heart is not thoroughly satisfied that one’s earnings in any job or industry is completely lawful, it would be best and safest for a believer to seek to employ his talents elsewhere where the boundaries of Allah are not violated; and if one makes this intention only for the sake and fear of Allah Subhanah, it is expected that not only will their Lord Most Gracious provide for them from His Endless Bounties in the life of this world, but He will appreciate their noble intention and striving to obey His Laws, and bestow upon them a generous reward in the eternal life of the Hereafter.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.49 Narrated by An Numan bin Bashir

I heard Allah's Messenger (saws) saying, 'Both ‘halaal’ (lawful) and ‘haraam’ (unlawful) things are evident but in between them there are doubtful (suspicious) things and most of the people have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from these suspicious things saves his religion and his honor. And whoever indulges in these suspicious things is like a shepherd who grazes (his animals) near the ‘Hima’ (private pasture) of someone else and at any moment he is liable to get in it. (O people!) Beware! Every king has a ‘Hima’ and the ‘Hima’ of Allah on the earth is His illegal (forbidden) things.’

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
