I want to ask a question regarding the prize winning without our consent.
Recently I have received an email from some agent which says that I am the
winner of sum amount (whihc I can`t even imagine in my dreams) for the
compilation of 2,50,000 emails and my email has selected as best amongst those
emails. I don`t believe this will be a geniune offer even though since I heard
this offer I am loosing concious by dreaming of this amount. By the grace of
almighty allah I am try to be pious as much I can. But I scared now where this
much amount (if it is genuine) will turn me path of shaitan. I seek refuge from
allah subhanaha. Please guide me whether this kind of prize awards are
acceptable in Islam or I need to refuse? Please respond immediately.

Answer:
Claim award by
chance
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
To the best of our knowledge brother, such random
selection of awards are nothing but scams invented by con-artists who make a
living by playing with the gullible nature of greed and innocence of the
recipient. For often than not, such
unscrupulous people announce with much fanfare that one has been randomly
selected to receive a huge amount as an award….and once they have ‘hooked’ the
recipient, they ask that a percentage of the amount needs be pre-paid by the
recipient to enable them to process their reward….and once the innocent and
gullible person transfers the said amount, that is the last time he hears from
them!!!!
But if the reward is indeed genuine, there is absolutely
no harm in Shariah if one were to accept it.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
