What
is the maximum time period of GHUSL after a husband performed sex with her
wife?

Answer:
Ghusl after sex
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
There is no maximum time specified in Shariah where one is
obligated to perform the ‘ghusl’ or full bath of purification after sexual
intercourse; but because being in the state of purity is an absolute
pre-condition for prayer, one would be required to purify themselves from their
state of ceremonial impurity before they intend to offer their next
prayer.
Sahih Muslim Hadith 603 Narrated by Aisha
Abdullah ibn AbdulQays said, "I asked
Aisha about the Witr (prayer) of the Messenger of Allah (saws) and made mention
of a hadith, then I said: ‘What did he (saws) do after having sexual
intercourse? Did he take a bath before going to sleep or did he sleep before
taking a bath?’ She said: ‘He (saws) did
all these. Sometimes he (saws) took a bath and then slept, and sometimes he
(saws) performed ablution only and went to sleep.’ I (the narrator) said: ‘Praise be to Allah
Who has made things easy (for the believers in the deen).’
If one wishes to do any chores, or sleep, etc., it is best
and a Sunnah that one at least perform the ‘wudu’ after sexual intercourse and
then continue with their chores until they purify themselves thoroughly with a
‘ghusl’ in preparation for their next prayers.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
