Answer:
Circumcision new muslim
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Sahih Al-Bukhari
Hadith 7.777 Narrated by Abu
Huraira
Allah's
Messenger (saws) said, "Five
practices are characteristics of the ‘Fitra’ (nature): shaving the pubic
region, removing the hair under the arms, clipping the nails, and circumcision
and cutting the moustaches short (for men)."
The guidance to perform a circumcision is not a Command of
the Quran, but rather a guidance from the authentic and established tradition
or Sunnah of the Last Messenger of Allah (saws). The circumcision, as stated by the Messenger
of Allah (saws) is a characteristic of ‘fitrah’ or nature, and a Sunnah of not
only Prophet Mohamed (saws) but also the Sunnah of the friend of Allah and the
father of the Prophets, Prophet Ibraheem (a.s.). Circumcision is not compulsory or obligatory
in Islam, but rather it is a Sunnah or voluntary act
My question is when
a non muslim becomes a muslim is there need of circumcission??
Circumcision is not considered an obligatory duty in
Islam, but rather a voluntary act; thus if one reverts to Islam at an advanced
age and chooses to perform circumcision, it would closest to the Sunnah; and if
for any reason one chooses not to perform circumcision, there would be no blame
or sin upon him.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
