2 Rakaah prayer for Syedna
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be
upon all of you)
One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
To the person
concerned
Can you please
answer to my question and oblige.
In the bohra community
the followers are asked to pray 2 rakat namaaz for the sayedna after all the
farz namaaz. Is it right to pary this two rakats. The niyyat they give to pary
this two rakat is something like this:
USSALI SALAT
------ WA DAI SAYEDNA MOHD. BURHANUDDEN ------RAKAT AINE LILLAH HE and so on.
Your reply would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Regards

Answer:
2 Rakaah prayer for
Syedna
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no
prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Prayer and absolutely all rites
of worship are the Exclusive Right of Allah Alone, and can ONLY be to Allah Subhanah, the Lord of the Worlds! If one prays or performs any rite of worship
to please someone other than Allah, he
will be guilty of the heinous and unforgivable sin of ‘shirk’.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumur verse
2-3:So worship Allah Alone, making your
religion His exclusively. Beware! Religion is the Exclusive Right of Allah. As for those who have taken other ‘auliyas’
with Allah (and justify their this conduct by saying): “We serve them only that
they may bring us closer to Allah.”
Allah will surely judge between them concerning all that in which they
differ. Allah does not show guidance to
any liar and denier of the Truth.
The real question that needs to
be addressed is why would one want to pray,
or why would one be asked to pray the two-rakahs for the syedna?
If one prays the two-rakahs of
‘salaat-us-shukr’ (prayer of gratefulness) for the syedna, he would be guilty of the heinous and
unforgivable sin of ‘shirk’! Allah
Subhanah Alone deserves all Praise, and
He Alone deserves that His slaves pray in gratitude to Him Alone.
If one is asked to pray
two-rakahs for the syedna because he might have missed his prayers in the
past; that too cannot be accepted, simply because ‘salaat’ cannot be prayed for
someone else! Each person has to pray
his own ‘salaat’ himself!
Besides, IF praying two rakahs salaat was allowed to
any human being, then the Messenger of
Allah (saws) has the biggest right – but he (saws) never ever
ordered his noble family or his noble companions to pray two-rakahs for
him! And when the Messenger of Allah
(saws) did not allow this, who amongst
the son of Adam has the audacity to demand that the slaves and worshippers of
Allah Subhanah pray two rakahs for him?
The one who requests or demands
such a thing is an instigator of an act of ‘shirk’; and the one who prays it performs an act of
the heinous and unforgivable crime of ‘shirk’!
And this sin of ‘shirk’ is the
single biggest, and the only
unforgivable sin in the sight of Allah Subhanah!
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verse 72:Whoever commits ‘shirk’ (invoking
anything with Allah), Allah shall forbid
for him Paradise, and Hell shall be his
abode. And for such wrong doers there
will be no one to help.
Allah
says in the Quran: Chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa Verse 48:Shirk (associating other
deities with Allah) is the only sin that Allah does not forgive, and He
forgives, whomsoever He pleases, sins other than this. For whosoever associates any other partner
with Allah, does indeed forge a big lie and commits the most heinous sin
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumar verse 65-66:If you commit ‘shirk’ all your works
will be rendered vain and you will be among the losers. Therefore,
you should worship Allah Alone,
and be among His grateful servants.
The people who are foremost
today in propagating and inventing such rites of shirk, will also be the foremost on the Day of
Judgment in cursing the same leaders and chiefs and great men to whom they pray
the two-rakahs today! But Allah
Subhanah has promised both the chiefs and their followers of ‘shirk’ the
everlasting Fire of Hell!
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzab verse 66-68:On the Day their faces are rolled
about on the Fire, they will say, “Would
that we had obeyed Allah and His Messenger!”
And they will say, “O our Lord,
we obeyed our CHIEFS and our GREAT MEN, and they led us astray from the
Right Path. O our Lord, give them a double chastisment and curse them
severely”.
Allah
says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 31:They have made their
scholars and their monks as their Rabbs besides Allah!
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 18 Surah Kahf verse 102:What?
Do these people, who have
disbelieved, presume that they would
make My servants their ‘auliyaas’ besides Me?
We have prepared Hell for the hospitality of such people.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 35 Surah Fatir verses 40:Say,
“Have you ever seen those associates of yours whom you invoke besides
Allah? Tell me: What have they created in the earth, or what is their share in the heavens? Have We given them a Book, from which they derive a clear sanction (for
their shirk)”. Nay! These wicked people are only beguiling one
another with nothing, but delusion.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 22 Surah Hajj verses
13:Then, instead of Allah, he invokes
those who can do him neither harm nor good.
This is the last extremity of deviation. He invokes those who are more likely to do
him harm, than good! What an
EVIL ‘MAULA’ he chooses, and what an
evil companion.
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.

Islam,
