Nazar Evil Eye Engagement breaks

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

My sister has been engaged four times. Everytime she gets engaged some hurdle or the other comes her way and she cant get married. Do you think there could be some nazar or something, or you think these things dont exist at all. Please tell us some dua for this. Thank you very much

Answer:

Nazar Evil Eye Engagement breaks

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

My dear and beloved sister in Islam, whatever affliction or trials befall someone, one should know with conviction that these conditions are no more than trials from their Lord to see what does the person do? Does the person remain patient and keep his trust, faith, and belief absolutely firm in the Mercy of their Lord during these days of trial…or does the person lose hope in their Lord and start knocking other doors of the ‘unseen’ in their effort to alleviate their trial?

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 35 Surah Fatir verse 2:

2 What Allah out of His Mercy doth bestow on mankind there is none can withhold: what He doth withhold there is none can grant apart from Him: and He is the Exalted in Power Full of Wisdom.

Your Question: My sister has been engaged four times. Everytime she gets engaged some hurdle or the other comes her way and she cant get married.

The All-Knowing All-Wise Lord is well aware of the condition of each in His creation; and if the marriage of a sister did not take place even after her engagement…one should know with conviction that that boy was not the best for the sister to marry and Allah Subhanah will provide her with a better person than the suitor whom she has lost. The sister and her family should keep their trust and belief firm in their Lord, and supplicate Him and Him Alone to make their trial easy for them.

Your Question: Do you think there could be some nazar or something, or you think these things dont exist at all.

Sahih Muslim Hadith 5427 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas

Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘The influence of ‘nazar’ (evil eye) is a fact; if anything would precede the ‘Qadr’ (destiny) it would be the influence of an evil eye.’

Beloved Sister, the influence of ‘nazar’ is indeed a fact as stated and declared by none other than the Messenger of Allah (saws); and Allah is our witness, every word uttered by the Messenger of Allah (saws) is nothing but the Truth.

But one should also know and believe with absolute conviction that the ‘evil eye’ does not possess any power by itself, nor can it harm or hurt anyone in the least without the precise Will and Permission of Allah Subhanah. Thus one should not fear the ‘evil eye’, but rather fear Allah their Lord and keep their faith and trust in Him and Him Alone.

If all the ‘evil-eyes’ of the world were to get together and try to harm someone, they would not even be able to do so without the Permission of Allah Subhanah; for all Power and all Strength rests with none save our Lord Most High, Most Exalted.

Your Question: Please tell us some dua for this.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 4563 Narrated by Abu Sa'id al-Khudri

Allah's Messenger (saws) used to seek refuge in Allah from the Jinn and the ‘evil eye’ in men till the Mu'awwidhatan (113th Surah Al-Falaq and 114th Surah An-Naas) were revealed, after which he made use of them and abandoned everything else.

Dear and beloved Sister, if one fears any harm from any quarter whatsoever, the only remedies or dua one needs is to recite the 113th Surah Al-Falaq and the 114th Surah An-Naas and thus seek the refuge with Allah Subhanah from any and all evil ever approaching them; it is expected that their Lord Most High will protect them from every harm.

Once one has sought refuge with Allah Subhanah, they should keep their absolute trust and belief in the Power and Strength of their Lord Alone, and need not fear any harm approaching them from any jinn, or magic, or evil eye, or any other quarter of the unseen! Allah Subhanah Alone suffices as one’s Protector and Helper.

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
