Answer:

Is Working on the Day of Ashura Haraam?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: Since on the day of Ashura 10 moharram We don`t do any business work if it is done than it is harram on us , Hope i am right ?

Beloved brother in Islam, Allah and His Messenger (saws) have laid no such restriction on the believers that working on the Day of Aashura, or searching for the Bounty of Allah on the Day of Aashura is haraam. And if Allah and His Messenger (saws) have not declared it haraamy, it is not binding on the believers!

One may search for the Bounty of Allah on whatever day one wills. The ONLY restriction that Allah has laid on the believers for stopping business is in the precise time of the Friday Sermon and Prayer. Other than that particular time, there is absolutely no restriction in searching for Allah’s Bounty.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 62 Surah Jumuah verses 9-10: O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (Jumuah prayers), hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah and leave off business (and traffic): that is best for you if ye but knew!

And when the Prayer is finished, then may ye disperse through the land and seek of the Bounty of Allah: and celebrate the Praises of Allah often (and without stint): that ye may prosper.

Beloved brother, please accept the salary without hesitation and use it on yourself, your family, or any which good way you wish; as the income is halaal for you.

Only Allah and His Messenger (saws) have a right to declare something haraam or halaal; and nowhere in the Quran or Sunnah have they declared the earnings of the Day of Aashura haraam for the believers.

Just a thought: The very so-called priests and holy men who have declared the earnings of the Day of Aashura haraam for the believers, are the same ones who make the maximum money on this very day; for it is a well known fact that the better the orator, the more he charges for his sermons on the Day of Aashura!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
