Assalamualaikum,

As everyone knows these are certainly the end days before Qiyaamat, I would just like to know IF Imam Mehdi appeared in our lifetime, what should we do ( Go to him, help him etc ).

Obviously only Allah SWT knows when Imam Mehdi will appear, but is good to have the knowledge of what to do if we are blessed with the opportunity to meet Imam Mehdi, and Hazrat Issa PBUH.

What to do when Imam Mehdi appears?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Dear and Beloved Brother in Islam, indeed almost all the ‘minor’ signs prophecised by our Noble Prophet (saws) have appeared; and the only things that awaits the coming of the Day of Judgment are the coming of the ‘major’ signs as foretold by the Noble Prophet (saws).

Sahih Muslim Hadith 6931 Narrated by Hudhayfah ibn Usayd Ghifari

Allah's Messenger (saws) came to us all of a sudden as we were (busy in a discussion) and he (saws) said: ‘What do you discuss about?’ (The Companions) said: ‘We are discussing about the Last Hour.’ Thereupon he (saws) said: ‘It will not come until you see Ten Signs before and (in this connection) he made a mention of the smoke, Dajjal, the beast, the descent of Jesus son of Mary (a.s.), The Gog and Magog, the rising of the sun from the west, and landslides in three places, one in the east, one in the west and one in Arabia at the end of which fire would burn forth from the Yemen, and would drive people to the place of their assembly.’

Dear and Beloved Brother in Islam, the duty and responsibility of the believers as an individual is to believe and do righteous good deeds according to the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah; and as a member of the Muslim Ummah his collective responsibility is to strive, with all the means at his disposal and to the best of his ability, to make the Word and Law of Allah Subhanah supreme in this world. That is what each and every individual will be responsible for in the Just and Supreme Court of Allah Subhanah on the Inevitable Day of Judgment.

One need not wait for the advent of Imam Mahdi to start his good deeds, nor should the members of the Muslim Ummah wait for the advent of Imam Mahdi to strive to make the Word of Allah Subhanah supreme in the World. Allah Subhanah Alone has the Knowledge of when Imam Mahdi will appear, but one thing is absolutely sure: Imam Mahdi will do exactly what every believer is commanded to do; and Allah Subhanah will grant the Muslim Ummah victory under his righteous leadership. Thus, because the mission of each believer and the mission of Imam Mahdi will be exactly the same, it is only natural that those who were striving to make Allah’s Word Supreme in the world will be united under his able and righteous leadership and together work for the same Noble Cause of Allah Subhanah.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
