Answer:

Which surah to read morning and evening?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Beloved and dear Brother in Islam, there is no particular injunction in Islam that one has to read a kind of Surah when leaving the house in the mornings. One may read any Surah or Surahs one wishes or is easy for him, or even better would be to recite a portion of the Quran every day before leaving the house so that one would be able to complete the whole recitation of the Quran in a year or two, Insha Allah.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 8.331 Narrated by Aisha

Whenever Allah's Messenger (saws) retired to bed, he used to blow on his hands while reciting the Mu'auwidhat ( i.e. Suratal-Falaq 113 and Surat-an-Naas 114) and then pass his hands over his body.

It was the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws) that he would recite the Mu’uawidhat, that is the Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas (113th and 114th Surahs) before he retired to bed every night.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
