Fire crackers on Ramadan Eid
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's
Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
I would like to known is it necessary to burst fire crackers
during the new moon sighting before the commencement of Ramzaan and on the
night of Idd or else on any occasion.
(There
may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum
does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from
our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)
Answer:
In the
name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
If one
burst fire crackers during one’s marriage, or the birth of one’s child, or any
day for displaying his joy or happiness, including the sighting of the new moon
that announces the arrival or end of Ramadan to make people aware that the time
has started, or as a sign of his joy at these celebrated days, etc.; there is
absolutely no harm.
But if
one bursts fire crackers and considers it a part of the deen, or thinks by
doing so he will earn a reward from Allah Subhanah, or that it is a part of the
Sunnah, etc. then it would be incorrect belief.
Thus it
all depends on the intention of the person who does the deed, for all actions
will be Judged by the All Knowing Lord according to one’s intentions.
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.1 Narrated
by Umar bin Al Khattab
I heard Allah's Messenger (saws) saying, "The reward of
deeds depends upon the intentions, and every person will get the reward
according to what he has intended.”
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me. Allah
Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in Islam,
Burhan
