Answer:

Dua for recovery of Debt

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

A believing man came to the Messenger of Allah (saws) and asked him what should he do with his camel when he is traveling in the desert, and intends to rest. Should he let the camel loose and keep his trust in Allah? The Messenger of Allah (saws) replied, “Tie your camel, and then put your trust in Allah Subhanah.”

Thus, the first thing you must do is seek a legal way, or talk to the person concerned and demand that he return the ‘amaanah’ back to you. And at all times, supplicate and beg Allah to facilitate the return of your amount back from the person who owes it to you.

There is no particular dua or tasbeeh ordained in the Quran or Sunnah for the recovery of debt. But there are many aayahs in the Quran, whereby the believers who invoked Allah when they were in a difficulty; and Allah answered their prayers. We may always pray these supplications whenever we find ourselves in any difficulty.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verses 87-88 (part):…. But afterwards he (Prophet Yunus) invoked Us from the depths of darkness, saying, “There is no god but You! Glory be to You. I have indeed done wrong.” So We heard his prayer, and delivered him from the affliction; thus do We deliver the believers!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imraan verse 173 (part):….. and the believers answered, “Allah is All-Sufficient for us; for He indded is the Best of Protectors.”

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
