Cover women in the month of Ramadhan
Mu' meneen Brothers
and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be
upon all of you)
One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
I live in a muslim country
where during the month of Ramadhan, the woman believe that they should cover their
head. My question is that Is it right to just cover your head during the month
of Ramadhan and not for the rest of the year?
(There may be
some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not
change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our

Answer:

women in the month of Ramadhan
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
The real reason that Allah
declares fasting has been ordained for the believers, is that it will instill
in them with piety or God-consciousness.
In Ramadan, Allah commands and stops
the believers from some of the ‘halaal’ things as a test; to see who amongst
His slaves obeys and follows His commands.
The reason is not to keep the believers hungry and thirsty; but rather
to see who are the obedient and obey Allah’s command, and who are the
disobedient and dis-obey the commands of Allah Subhanah. The one who fasts, thus declares his
absolute obedience to his Creator; when His Creator says eat, he eats, and when
His Lord says stop, he stops. This is
the training method of Allah Subhanah.
Just as we follow Allah’s
Commands and orders in Ramadan and stay away from food and drink as long as He
has ordered, so should be our state with all the commands of Allah Subhanah.
Thus if Allah has commanded the believing woman to cover herself with a veil,
she should obey the command of Allah and cover herself as ordered by her Lord
and Creator, in Ramadan as well as after Ramadan.
The training that Allah wills to
implant to the believers is that we should obey and follow each and every command
of our Lord and Creator, and at all times of our lives. We cannot pick and choose the commands, nor
the times we want them to follow it in.
Each and every command of Allah and His Messenger (saws) must be obeyed
in its entirety…. That should be the
way of a true believer, who truly believes in Allah and the Last Day.
Now if a woman only obeys her
Lord part-time and only covers herself in Ramadan, she is disobeying the
command of Allah for the rest of the year.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit
is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of
me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.

Islam,
