Answer:
Shaving baby hair
sunnah
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 2832 Narrated by Samurah ibn Jundub
The Prophet (saws) said: ‘A child is in
pledge for his ‘Aqiqah’, sacrifice is made for it on the seventh day, its head
is shaved, and it is given a name.’
To offer the ‘aqiqa’ sacrifice for the new-born on the
seventh day of its birth, or shave its head, etc. is not an obligatory rite of
worship in Islam, but rather an extremely preferred Sunnah of the Messenger of
Allah (saws) and thus voluntary. If one
fulfills the Sunnah of ‘aqiqa’ as a sign of gratitude unto their Lord, one
would earn a huge reward; but if one is unable to fulfill the Sunnah of ‘aqiqa’
for any reason whatsoever, there would be no sin upon them.
The absolute most that can be said of one who does not
fulfill the Sunnah of ‘aqiqa’ is that the person missed a great opportunity to
earn huge rewards from their Lord Most Gracious.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
