One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Asalamo Alaykom wa RahmatoAllahe wa Barakatoh brother/sister

i am a 17 year old girl living in Australia i took my Hijab off nearly7 months ago but since then i have slowly been learning about Islam and became more interested in it and everyday I do my best to do my prayers exactly on time, I respect my parents now, I do a lot of other good deeds which I never used to do and to mention that I am not claiming that it is due to removing my Hijab noway. but i know that i am a way purer than whati ever had been i stdy my religion daily.

By considering all this I would love to put back on my Hijab but for some external reasons I dont see myself doing so within the next nearly 11 months. and I do suffer the fact that I do not wear it and if I could I would wear a Burka and even stay at home my whole life if my father, brother or future husband ordered to do so but it is my situation that does not let me.

I never look at any stranger man, I do not enjoy being uncovered...what im trying to say is that inside me there is no desire... and my question is that if I die during this time (11months) will I go to hell eventhought I do my best to do anything I can lbut the only yhing is that I am without a Hijab (and not willingly). Do all the things that I do (good deeds) count for me?

Answer:

No hijaab hell fire

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 59:

O Prophet, enjoin your wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons. It is expected that they will thus be recognized, and not molested. Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 24 Surah Nur verse 31:

(O Prophet) enjoin the believing woman to restrain their gaze and guard their modesty, and not to display their adornment except that which is displayed of itself, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to display their adornments except before their husbands, their fathers, …….and also forbid them to stamp their feet on the ground lest their hidden ornaments should be displayed.

Allah Subhanah, The Majestic and Supreme Lord and Creator of the Universe, has Himself Commanded and Guided the believing woman to adorn herself with the ‘hijaab’…..thus if a woman who professes belief in Allah and the Last Day were to intentionally disregard or disobey this clear Command of her Lord, she obviously would be in manifest transgression of one of the Laws of the Lord Most High.

Your Question: ... and my question is that if I die during this time (11months) will I go to hell eventhought I do my best to do anything I can lbut the only yhing is that I am without a Hijab (and not willingly). Do all the things that I do (good deeds) count for me?

The Lord Who Created and Commanded and Guided the believers to offer their prayers and their worship unto Him, respect their parents and their elders, give the due rights to one’s fellow human beings, and strive to do good righteous deeds, etc….is the exact Same Lord Who Commanded and Guided the believing woman to adorn herself in the ‘hijaab’ when in the presence of non-mehram men!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 208-210:

208 O ye who believe! Enter into Islam whole-heartedly; and follow not the footsteps of the Shaytaan; for he is to you an avowed enemy.

209 If ye backslide after the clear (Signs) have come to you, then know that Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.

210 Will they wait until Allah comes to them in canopies of clouds with Angels (in His Train), and the question is (thus) settled? But to Allah do all questions go back (for Decisions).

Allah Subahanah has Commanded and Guided the believers who have professed belief in Him and the Last Day to enter into the deen of Islam ‘whole-heartedly’….not ‘pick and choose’ which Commands they are willing to accept and which ones they chose to ignore!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verse 47:

47 We shall set up the Scales of Justice for the Day of Judgment so that not a soul will be dealt with unjustly in the least. And if there be (no more than) the weight of a mustard seed We will bring it (to account): and enough are We to take account!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 101 Surah Al-Qariah verses 6-11:

6 Then (on the Day of Judgment), he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy

7 Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction.

8 But he whose balance (of deeds) will be (found) light

9 Will have his home in a (bottomless) pit.

10 And what will explain to thee what this is?

11 (It is) a Fire Blazing fiercely!

Every good and righteous deeds one does in accordance with the Guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, one would receive an assigned and decreed ‘weight’ for that deed in the Presence of their Lord Most High; and every evil one does, one will be assigned its appropriate ‘weight’ on the Scales of Justice. If one’s scale of ‘good’ deeds is heavier than one’s scale of ‘evil’ deeds, one would receive the Mercy of their Lord; and if one’s scale of ‘evil’ and heavier than their ‘good’, they would deserve the Wrath and the Anger of their Lord.

One cannot say or claim that a believing woman who chooses to disobey and ignore a clear Command of her Lord and not to adorn herself with the ‘hijaab’ will be condemned to the Hell-Fire, but without an iota of a doubt, it would indeed add the appropriate weight for her manifest transgression unto her scale of ‘evil’ in the Presence of her Lord!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
