Can women pray following the imaam in a tent outside the mosque?

Dear Brothers & Sisters,
As-Salaamu-Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
In some mosques they make additional space for women outside the mosque because some women come to the mosque with children who disturb other worshippers with their loud voices. So they put a tent in the parking lot of the mosque for them, with stairs or a small laneway between the tent and the mosque, and they put loudspeakers in the tent. What is the ruling on prayer in this tent?

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

We put this question to Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah preserve him) who replied that it is not permissible to pray outside the mosque except in cases of necessity, and this is not a case of necessity. The women who have children with them (who disturb others) should be told not to come at all, because they are causing annoyance to others, or else they have to pray outside the mosque without. So this tent should not be put up for them outside the mosque. And Allaah knows best.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah's Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
