Some old people get angry with those who get to a certain spot in the mosque before them

Dear Brothers & Sisters,
As-Salaamu-Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
There are some old people who, when they go to the mosque and find that someone is sitting in the spot where they usually pray, get angry. What is the ruling on this?

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

This is not permissible. The one who got there first has more right to the spot than they do. They should not get angry, and they have no rights in this regard.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah's Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
