Praying in a mosque built with riba based loan
Dear Brothers & Sisters,As-Salaamu-Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
A new Islamic Center in my communinity is being built. The Muslims here bought the property by taking a huge loan with interest. The masjid was built involving interest. Is it haram for Muslim students to pray and conduct activities in this mosque or go to only the other masjids in the area?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)

Praise be to Allaah.
It is permissible to pray in this mosque; the people who took out the loan based on interest must repent to Allaah. And Allaah is the source of strength.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah's Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Is it permissible to make the school mosque into a place in which children play at times other than the prayer times?
