Working in administration supervised by a ministry that supervises taxes and customs

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
What is the ruling on working in a governmental administration as a communication technician? This administration is in charge of planning, housing, and preparing
different housing and industrial projects undertaken by the state for the benefit of people. This administration now is part of the ministry of finance while it was in the past a part of the ministry of planning. The ministry of finance supervises other departments like costumes and taxes, and the department of budget, and other departments. What is the ruling on this work and o the salary and grants I receive from it?.

There is nothing wrong with the work you mention, and it does not matter that the administration is supervised by the finance ministry that supervises the taxes and customs. What matters is that the work that you do should be free of anything that goes against sharee’ah. If the work is permissible, then it is permissible to do it and the salary is halaal.
