Recite what surahs in taraweeh: ..

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Asak Mr. Burhan We are followers of Hanafi Maslak, we have completed Quran Kareem in 10 days of Taraweeh, now after 10 days we are doing 20 Rikah taraweeh, My question:- are we only suppose to recite Alam Tarah Kaif to Qul aoozu birabbin naas, for the 20 rikah taraweeh, as practiced mostly among followers and in masajid, or other surah, parts of Quran can also be recited for taraweeh, on completion of quran. Your early answer will be highly appreciated, Jazakallahu Khair.

Answer:

Tarawih ten or twenty rakahs

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

In the taraweeh prayers one can recite any surah from the Noble Quran in its chronological order. There is no requirement to recite some particular surahs only.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is only ones. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
