Make up /Superstitions

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His  forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Q-1. After wudu if someone has makeup, can she say her salah?
The applying of makeup does not break ones wudu. There is absolutely no harm if the woman applies makeup after wudu, and performs her salaah.

Q-2. In western countries, parents are scared they cannot smack/scold etc. as the government is very strict...... due to this children become very
stubborn.  could you please suggest some duas, as per our prophet (PUH)

One of the best supplications for children is the one that Allah Subhanah Himself has revealed in the Glorious Quran; and which the Messenger of Allah (saws) used to recite regularly.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 25 Surah Al-Furqan verse 74:

And (the true servants of the Merciful) pray, O our Lord! Bless us with wives and children, who may be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of the righteous.

Q-3. If someone ask me whether i am shia or sunni.  what should i answer? (As i follow the sunna of Prophet Muhammad PUH)
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah Hajj verse 77-78:

O you who have believed, do rukooh (bow down) and do sajdah (prostration), and worship your Lord Allah Alone, and do righteous deeds: it may be that you attain true success! Exert your utmost for the cause of Allah, as one should. He has chosen you for His service, and has not laid on you any hardship in your religion. Therefore, be steadfast in the religion of your father Abraham. Allah had named you muslims before this, and has named you (muslims) in this Quran also, so that the Messenger may be a witness in regard to you, and you may be witnesses in regard to the rest of mankind.

The believers should be honored to be recognized by the name that Allah Subhanah Himself has chosen for us, that is: muslims. The sect names of Shias, Sunnis, Hanafis, Malkis, Ismailis, Bohras, etc. are man-made names and have no basis and authority in Islam.

Prophet Mohamed (saws) was neither a Shia nor a Sunni, but he was a muslim, and so were his noble companions and the noble ahle-bayt. The believers who sincerely follow Prophet Mohamed (saws), and the deen that was brought by him, are proud and honored to be recognized as muslims.

If someone presses you to give the name of the sect you belong, then say that you belong the sect that Prophet Mohamed (saws), his noble ahle-bayt, and his noble companions belonged to. If they were Shias, we are Shias! If they were Sunnis, we are Sunnis! No one would dare say that Prophet Mohamed (saws) was a Shia or a Sunni, etc.; because the noble Messenger of Allah (saws), his noble companions, and his noble ahle-bayt, always identified themselves as muslims!

Q-4. Can one clip the nails, brooming the house etc. after maqrib?  People say it is not good.  is it superstitious?
One may clip their nails, broom the house or the whole town, and do whatever chores they need to do, at any time of the day or night! People may say a lot of things, but only what Allah and His Messenger (saws) have guided towards, is the Absolute Truth!

No nail, and no broom, and no one else has any power or strength to bring any good or harm upon us. All Power is Absolutely vested in the One and Only, All Mighty and All Powerful Lord of the Universe.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verses160:

If Allah helps you, none can overcome you! And if Allah forsakes you, who is there, then, after Allah that can help you? Therefore, the true believers should trust in Allah Alone.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 10 Surah Yunus verses 106-107:

And do not call besides Allah, any being that can neither do you any good nor any harm. For if you will do so, you shall be one of the doers of wrong. If Allah afflicts you with a calamity, there is none to remove it, but He Himself. Likewise, if Allah wills to bestow a favor on you, there is none to withhold Allahs bounty. He bestows His bounty on anyone of His servants He wills. And He is The Forgiving, The Merciful.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verse 175:

It was Shaitaan who was frightening the people with the fear of his awliyaas; therefore, in future, do not fear men, but fear Me (Allah), if you are true believers.

To fear that anyone or anything can bring upon us some harm or benefit is a manifestation of the heinous sin of shirk, and the believers must stay far away from anything that even has a connotation of this heinous and unforgiveable crime of shirk!

No one has any power or strength, except Allah Subhanah, the Most High, the Most Sublime.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
