Answer:

Is Hijab required for reciting the Quran

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 56 Surah Waqiah verse 77-82: That this is indeed a Glorious Quran, most honorable. It is inscribed in a well-guarded Book, which none shall touch, except the purified.  This (Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. Then is this Message something that you should hold in light esteem?   And have you made it (the Quran) your daily livlehood, that you should declare it (the Quran) as false?

The fact of the matter is that the Holy Quran is the very words of the All Mighty, All Powerful Allah Subhanah. These words should be held in high esteem and high respect.  When a simple king or ruler or president of this world issues an edict, everybody gives it due attention and respect!   But the words of the Lord of the Worlds are held in light esteem! What an ingrate and unjust decision a human being makes in regards to the words of his Lord and Master!

To cover the head is not a condition for reading the Holy Quran or for listening it from someone, thus if one does it or does not do it, it makes no difference. But one has to be clean and purified, preferably in the state of wudoo (ablution), when reading the Holy Quran.  When one reads the Holy Quran, he should realize that he is reading the very words of the All Mighty, All Powerful Allah, and give them due respect.

May Allah guide you and us all to the Siraat al-Mustaqeem.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
