The scars will never go and I can`t get plastic surgery.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

I am a 25 year old Muslim Female.

I burned myself with hot water when I was 3 years old.

I have scars ALL over my body.

This makes me always so angry, depressed, upset.

The scars will never go and I can`t get plastic surgery.

I feel like killing myself all the time.

I pray all the time but sometimes my anger makes me NOT want to pray.

What can I do?

I have been patient ALL my life, but its getting HARDER.

Answer:

Plastic surgery

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Respected sister, if an unfortunate accident has left scars over your body to such an extent that even modern cosmetic or plastic surgery cannot help limit the damage, you must bring yourself to fear Allah your Lord and accept the trial and the condition He has laid upon you.

Allah says in the Holy Quran in Chapter 67 Surah Al Mulk verse 2:

He (Allah) created death and life that He may test you, to see which of you is the best in deeds.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 155-157:

155 Be sure We shall test you with something of fear, and hunger, some loss in goods, or lives, or the fruits (of your toil); but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere.

156 Who say when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah we belong and to Him is our return."

157 They are those on whom (descend) blessings from Allah and Mercy; and they are the ones that receive guidance.

Fiqh-us-Sunnah Fiqh 4.1

Abu Hurairah narrates that the Prophet (saws) said: "When Allah wants to be good to someone, He tries him with some hardship."

Abu Hurairah reports that Allah's Messenger (saws) said: "For every misfortune, illness, anxiety, grief, or hurt that afflicts a Muslim -even the hurt caused by the pricking of a thorn - Allah removes some of his sins."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.545 Narrated by Abu Said Al Khudri and Abu Huraira

The Prophet (saws) said, "No fatigue, no disease, no sorrow, no sadness, no hurt, no distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that."

The life of this world is no more than a trial and a test ordained by the Lord Most Gracious; and as hard as it may seem to you, if you can bring yourself to accept this trial Decreed upon you by your Lord with patience, rest assured that your Lord Most Merciful will accept your gratitude and bestow huge rewards on you in the eternal and everlasting life of the Hereafter.

Respected sister, regardless of the severity of the trial, taking or ending one’s life is not and should never ever even be an option for one who sincerely believes in Allah and the Last Day!

The Messenger of Allah (saws) warned that whoever commits suicide, their punishment will be guaranteed Hell Fire, and they will be eternally tortured in the same manner in which they killed themselves in the everlasting life of the Hereafter.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 2.445 Narrated by Thabit bin Ad Dahhak

The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, "Whoever commits suicide with a piece of iron will be punished with the same piece of iron in the Hell Fire." Narrated Jundab that the Prophet (saws) said, "A man was inflicted with wounds and he committed suicide, and so Allah Subhanah Said: My slave has caused death on himself hurriedly, so I forbid Paradise for him."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 2.446 Narrated by Abu Huraira

The Prophet (saws) said, "He who commits suicide by throttling shall keep on throttling himself in the Hell Fire (forever) and he who commits suicide by stabbing himself shall keep on stabbing himself in the Hell-Fire."

Respected sister, we urge you to fear Allah Subhanah, and be patient with whatever befalls you in the life of this world, for Allah is our witness, whatever calamities and afflictions befall man in this short and transitory world are nothing but a trial set upon them by their Lord Most Gracious.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
