Parents sin effect children.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Assalamu Alaikum (Varah)

I want to really appreciate for you hardwork, And May Allah (SWT) give you the strength to continue you Dawa.

I have question: I hear from many - that if either of the parents committed some kind of sin or mistake knowingly or unknowingly, will it affect the child(health, future....etc) according to Islam. Please quote from (Quran and Hadith)

Jazak Allah Kheir.

Answer:

Parents sin effect children

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: ….I hear from many - that if either of the parents committed some kind of sin or mistake knowingly or unknowingly, will it affect the child (health, future....etc) according to Islam.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam Verse 164:

Every soul draws the meed of its acts on none but itself: no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. Your goal in the end is toward Allah: He will tell you the Truth of the things wherein ye disputed.

Every soul draws the meed of its actions on none but itself! If one transgresses the prescribed boundaries of Allah Subhanah and commissions a sin, they themselves shall bear its consequences and will be held responsible for it. The child or off-spring will be absolutely innocent of the sin commissioned by their parents, nor will the sins of one’s parents affect the health or future of the child in the ‘unseen’ in any way whatsoever!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
