My question is as i am residing in Makkah working as a engineer if i want to travel to madina for a day or 2 for the Ziyarah ,is it compulsory for me to perform Umrah when i enter the Meekat of Haram as i am following Imam Hanafi or i have to sacrifice a goat in the name of Allah.let me know as i have asked many persons but i am confused really. If a person is travelling for his business or for marketing once a week or twice a week is it necessary for him too.

Allah Hafeez.

Answer:

Visit Makkah and Umrah

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

There is absolutely no compulsion or obligation in Shariah that one has to perform the Umrah everytime one enters the ‘Meeqat’ or the Masjid al-Haraam It is entirely at the discretion of the person whether they wish to perform the Umrah, or make Tawaaf, or simply offer prayers at the Masjid-al-Haraam.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
