Meaning of various names

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Rashid:

Rashid means right-minded, judicious, rightly-guided, pious.

Husnain:

Husnain means two ‘Hussains’; and Hussain means a small Hasan; and Hasan means beautiful.

Asad:

Asad is the Arabic term for a lion.

Abbas:

Abbas literally means a furious lion that mauls its prey to pieces! Abbas ibn Abdul Muttalib (r.a.) is also the name of the beloved uncle and noble companion of the Messenger of Allah (saws).

Mubina:

Mubina means clear, manifest, plain, and distinct.

Aqeela:

Aqeela means the best, or the very best.

Aneela:

Aneela is not an Arabic term, and is probably derived from Persian or Sanskrit language.

Taha:

Taha itself does not have a definitive meaning, and is derived from the first verse of the 20th Surah of the Glorious Quran.

Irfan:

Irfan means knowledge, learning, perception, discernment, wisdom.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
