Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

I notice in one of your emails you mentioned that the identity of the people asking these questions is completely confidential and if requested you will not publish the questions and the corresponding answer on the email mailing list. However I noticed one email where the person had urged you not to post her question on the internet, but I still noticed it and was able to read it.

I request that you have a better system where if asked the privacy of the individual with the question is completley preserved and if requested the Q&A be not posted on the internet.

Thanks You

Answer:

Our mails are confidential

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Respected sister, we absolutely assure you that the names and email address of any brother or sister who posts a question on this humble forum is never released for any purpose whatsoever, thus the confidentiality of the person who posed the question is always maintained.

Regarding your comment that one amongst the questioners requested us not to publish their question and you were able to read the question along with our answer on the forum….respected sister, the only reason that would have happened is that if we felt that the question posed by the person would help another brother or sister in the same situation, we subsequently contact the said person and explain this to them and if and only if they give us their specific consent, we post that question and answer on our humble forum.

We absolutely assure you that if one amongst our brethren specifically requests us not to publish their statements, we would never ever do so without seeking their permission first. In any case, since you have brought this to our attention, we will revise our systems again and make every effort to make sure that the brethren who seek confidentiality of their questions is maintained.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
