Answer:

Level of paradise

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 17 Surah Israa verse 21:

21 See how We have bestowed more on some than on others (in this world); but verily the Hereafter is more in rank and gradation, and more in excellence.

In light of the above quoted guidance of the Glorious Quran, it is safe to assume that there are innumerable levels of rank and gradation in Paradise, the levels and grades of which are known to none save Allah Subhanah.

Amongst the various names of Paradise mentioned in the Glorious Quran are:

  1. Jannat ul Khuld
  2. Jannat al Firdaus
  3. Jannat al And
  4. Jannat al-Ma’wa
  5. Dar ul-Muttaqeen
  6. Al Maqaam al Ameen
  7. Ar-Raudah
  8. Dar us Salaam
  9. Jannat Al-Naeem
  10. Dar ul Muqaama

Such are the innumerable grades, ranks and levels in Paradise that the Messenger of Allah (saws) declared in one narration that a hundred of them are reserved only for the ‘mujahideen’ who fight in the Allah’s Cause!

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.48 Narrated by Abu Huraira

The Prophet said, "Whoever believes in Allah and His Messenger (saws), offers prayer perfectly and fasts the month of Ramadan, will rightfully be granted Paradise by Allah, no matter whether he fights in Allah's Cause or remains in the land where he is born." The people asked, "O Allah's Messenger (saws)! Shall we acquaint the people with this good news?" He (saws) replied: "Paradise has one-hundred grades which Allah has reserved (only) for the ‘mujahidin’ who fight in His Cause, and the distance between each of two grades is like the distance between the heaven and the earth. So, when you ask Allah (for something), ask for ‘Al-Firdaus’ which is the best and highest part of Paradise." (i.e., The sub-narrator added, "The Prophet (saws) also said, 'Above it (i.e. ‘Al-Firdaus’) is the Throne of Beneficent (i.e. Allah), and from it originate the rivers of Paradise.")

Of all the grades and levels of Paradise, the Messenger of Allah (saws) declared the absolute highest rank and level is called the ‘Al-Firdaus’…..

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 5.318 Narrated by Anas

Haritha was martyred on the day (of the battle) of Badr, and he was a young boy then. His mother came to the Prophet (saws) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (saws)! You know how dear Haritha is to me. If he is in Paradise, I shall remain patient, and hope for reward from Allah, but if it is not so, then you shall see what I do?" He (saws) replied "May Allah be merciful to you! Have you lost your senses? Do you think there is only one Paradise? There are many Paradises and your son is in the (most superior) Paradise of all, the ‘Al-Firdaus’."

Each fortunate dweller of Paradise will be allotted their due rank and gradation on the Day of Judgment according to the level of their belief and deeds, and above all, the Mercy and Grace of their Lord Most Gracious.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.473 Narrated by Sahl bin Sad Al Saidi

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "A place in Paradise equal to the size of a lash (or a bow or a whip) is better than the whole world and whatever is in it."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 8.542 Narrated by Abu Said Al Khudri

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "The believers, after being saved from the (Hell) Fire, will be stopped at a bridge between Paradise and Hell and mutual retaliation will be established among them regarding wrongs they have committed in the world against one another. After they are cleansed and purified, they will be admitted into Paradise; and by Him in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is, everyone of them will know (and recognize) their dwelling in Paradise better than they knew (or recognized) their dwelling in this world."

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
