The mojiza of galiakot.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Salaam,

There is another question that I need immediate and accurate answers for. As i have told you earlier, I hail from a Bohra community and we usually travel to a place called Galiakot in Rajasthan. There supposedly moajizas happen but I have never personally experienced any.My family has though, and they have said that the one possessed with evil/jinn, are treated there. What I have heard and am confused about is that the jinns themselves talk abuot seeing Abbas Alamdar R.A, Imam Hussain, The bahutar shoahadah and the likes. Even the Leader Dr. Mohd. Burhanuddin. Also the way the possessed is tortured on its own by probably the jinn that is inside is no laughing matter. Can you please explain this to me. Can you tell me if Bohra community is following the wrong path, then how can the jinn see the caravan that was martyred at Karbala and also the Syedna? The answer to this will change my entire view and outlook towards Bohra and Islam. Please help me.

Answer:

The mojiza of galiakot

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: …..There is another question that I need immediate and accurate answers for. As i have told you earlier, I hail from a Bohra community and we usually travel to a place called Galiakot in Rajasthan. There supposedly moajizas happen but I have never personally experienced any.My family has though, and they have said that the one possessed with evil/jinn, are treated there.

Just so that you know sister, in my ‘days of ignorance’ before Allah Subhanah blessed me to read the Glorious Quran with understanding and guided me to the Truth of Islam, I too used to be a frequent visitor to this place called ‘Galiakot’…..and times too several to count, even I have myself witnessed the ‘charade’ of the supposed ‘moajizas’ or ‘miracles’ that take place there!!!!

We will address the notion of the supposed ‘moajizas’ that take place there later in the session; but lets first take a look at what Allah Subhanah says about the concept of Jinns in His Glorious Quran…..

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 15 Surah Hijr verses 26-27:

26 We created man from sounding clay from mud molded into shape;

27 And the Jinn race We had created before from the fire of a scorching wind.

The Jinns and the humans are amongst a separate and completely distinct creation of Allah Subhanah, who have their own test of life ordained for them by Allah Subhanah, and the Jinn, like the human beings, will have a full accounting of their deeds on the Day of Judgment like the humans.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 51 Surah Dhariyat verse 56:

I have not created the Jinn and mankind except for this that they should worship Me alone.

The system or nature of this life created by the Lord Most High is that every person is responsible for the deeds he does with his own will. If the ‘jinns’ had the power or could possess someone, then whatever that person does or says, he does not do or say with his own will but rather it would be the will of the Jinn! If a jinn could posses a human being, he could murder someone, rape someone, steal something, etc. and make the human being he has possessed do many an evil deed….and the innocent person could be held guilty in a court of law and punished for something he did not will to do!!!! The whole system of life and the test that the All-Knowing, All-Wise Lord has bestowed would be in total disarray…and no ones’ life or property would be safe on this earth!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 114 Surah An-Naas verses 4-6:

4 (Say: I seek refuge in Allah ) from the mischief of the whisperer (of evil) who withdraws (after his whisper)

5 (The same) who whispers into the hearts of mankind

6 Among Jinns, and among men.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 14 Surah Ibraheem verse 22:

22 And the Shaytaan (on the Day of Judgment) will say when the matter is decided: "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you, but ye listened to me: then reproach not me but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrongdoers there must be a Grievous Penalty."

In light of the above absolutely clear guidance of the Quran, the absolute maximum the Jinn has the power to do is to whisper some evil into the hearts of men, and inspire and invite man to commit some evil! They have absolutely no power to help or hurt any human being, and they absolutely do not possess the power to possess a human being.

Thus not only is the guidance of the Holy Quran against the very concept of a jinn possessing a human being, but even logically it is absolutely impossible for a jinn to possess a human being and make him do his will!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 4:

4 But Allah tells (you) the Truth and He shows the (Right) Way.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verse 87:

87 And whose Word can be truer than Allah's?

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa verse 122:

The promise of Allah is True, and who can be truer in his Word than Allah?

Your Statements: …..What I have heard and am confused about is that the jinns themselves talk abuot seeing Abbas Alamdar R.A, Imam Hussain, The bahutar shoahadah and the likes. Even the Leader Dr. Mohd. Burhanuddin.

Respected sister in Islam, regardless of what the supposed ‘jinns’ see or say….lets analyze what Allah Subhanah says regarding communicating with those who are dead and buried in their graves…..

Whatever happens to the soul after death in the grave, on the Day of Judgment, etc. is what is known as the knowledge of the ‘unseen’; and none possesses the Knowledge of the unseen except Allah Subhanah, the Lord of the Worlds, Alone. Thus to know what exactly transpires after death or in the grave, we must rely on only what is Declared by the All-Knowing Lord in His Glorious Quran, or what Allah Subhanah made known to Prophet Mohamed (saws) through inspiration, and he (saws) narrated it to the believers in his authentic traditions.

One cannot of himself say ‘I think…’, ‘I suppose…’, ‘I assume….’, or ‘it is said….’ etc. when it comes to knowledge of the unseen! The Only One Who has the Absolute Knowledge of the Seen and the Unseen is none other than the One Who Created everything in existence; and He Alone has the Right to declare in Truth what exactly transpires in the events of the ‘unseen’. Thus for any information of the ‘unseen’ the believers must rely only on what is declared by the All-Knowing Lord in His Glorious Quran, or what He Willed to make known to the Last Messenger (saws) through inspiration, and he (saws) narrated it to the believers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 8 Surah Anfaal verses 50-51:

50 If thou couldst see when the Angels take the souls of the unbelievers (at death) (how) they smite their faces and their backs (saying): "Taste the penalty of the blazing fire

51 Because of (the deeds) which your (own) hands sent forth: for Allah is never unjust to His servants.”

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 47 Surah Muhammad verses 27-28

27 But how (will it be) when the Angels take their souls at death and smite their faces and their backs?

28 This because they followed that which called forth the Wrath of Allah and they hated Allah's good pleasure; so He made their deeds of no effect.

In light of the above guidance of the Glorious Quran, it is evident that the Angels of Allah Subhanah take control of the soul of the deceased. Neither the soul has the power to ‘flee’ from the Angels, nor do the Angels of Allah set these souls free so that they may go where they please; and the Quran guides that the souls are placed in a place called the ‘Barzakh’.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 23 Muminoon verses 99-103:

99 (In Falsehood will they be) until when death comes to one of them he says: "O my Lord! send me back (to life)

100 In order that I may work righteousness in the things I neglected." By no means! It is but a word he says; before them is a ‘Barzakh’ (Veil or Partition) till the Day they are raised up.

101 Then when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no more relationships between them that day nor will one ask after another!

102 Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy they will attain salvation:

103 But those whose balance is light will be those who have lost their souls; in Hell will they abide.

The literal meaning of the term ‘barzakh’ is something of a barrier or a veil, or something which is kept hidden. In Quranic terminology, the period between one’s death on earth and when one will be granted life again by Allah on the Day of Judgement, is known as ‘Barzakh’.

What happens immediately to the soul of the deceased is narrated in truth by the Messenger of Allah (saws):

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4735 Narrated byAl-Bara' ibn Azib

The Prophet (saws) said: “When a believer is buried in the grave two angels will come to him (Munkar and Nakir, both have dark faces and blue eyes), make him sit up, and ask : ‘Who is your Lord?’ He will reply: ‘My Lord is Allah.’ They will ask him: ‘What is your religion?’ He will reply: ‘My religion is Islam.’ They will ask him: ‘What is your opinion about the man who was sent on a mission among you?’ He will reply: ‘He is the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).’ They will ask: ‘ Who made you aware of this?’ He will reply: ‘I read Allah's Book, believed in it, and considered it true.’ Then a crier will call from Heaven: ‘My servant has spoken the truth. So spread a bed for him from Paradise, clothe him from Paradise, and open a door for him into Paradise.’ Then some of its air and perfume will come to him, and a space will be made for him as far as the eye can see. At the death of the unbeliever his soul will be restored to his body in the grave. Then two angels will come to him. They will make him sit up and ask him: ‘Who is your Lord?’ He will reply: ‘Alas, alas! I do not know.’ They will ask him: ‘What is your religion?’ He will reply: ‘Alas, alas! I do not know.’ They will ask: ‘Who was the man who was sent on a mission among you?’ He will reply: ‘Alas, alas! I do not know.’ Then a crier will call from Heaven: ‘He has lied, so spread a bed for him from Hell, clothe him from Hell, and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and burning hot wind will come to him, and his grave will be compressed, such that his ribs will be crushed together. An angel who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of him, having a sledge-hammer, such that, if a mountain were struck with it, it would become dust. He will give him a blow with it, which will be heard by everything between the east and the west except by men and jinn, and he will become dust. Then his soul will be restored to him (again).

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 5352 Narrated by Abu Sa'id

The Prophet (saws) said: "The grave (or the life of the soul between one’s death and one’s resurrection on the Day of Judgment) is one of the Gardens of Paradise, or one of the pits of Hell!"

In light of the absolutely clear guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, no soul or spirit of the deceased can escape the clutches of the Angels of Allah, nor do the Angels of Allah set them free to interact or communicate with those who are alive on this earth, or dead and buried in their graves!!!!!

The souls of the deceased are secured by the Angels of Allah and are placed in a place called the ‘Barzakh’; neither can the soul of the deceased leave this secured place, nor can they come down to earth, nor do they have the power to interact with any human beings or jinns from ‘Barzakh’!

In light of the clear guidance of the Glorious Quran, the souls of the deceased will remain in the Barzakh till the Lord Creator, Glorified and Exalted is He, Decrees to raise them up on the Day of Judgment.

Your Question: ……Also the way the possessed is tortured on its own by probably the jinn that is inside is no laughing matter. Can you please explain this to me. Can you tell me if Bohra community is following the wrong path, then how can the jinn see the caravan that was martyred at Karbala and also the Syedna?

Respected sister in Islam, in light of the above quoted Verses of the Glorious Quran it is absolutely evident that the Jinns do not have the power in the least to possess human beings, nor can they be seen, nor can they communicate with those who are dead!

Allah Subhanah has Declared The Absolute Truth in His Glorious Quran…..the choice one has is either to believe The Truth from Allah Subhanah, or believe the falsehood that is propagated by the Jinns who supposedly possess human beings, or the supposed ‘moajizas’ that take place at the tomb or shrines of the deceased!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 10 Surah Yunus verses 32-33:

32 Such is Allah your real Cherisher and Sustainer: apart from Truth what (remains) but error? How then are ye turned away?

Respected sister, when it is evident from the Glorious Quran that Jinns cannot possess human beings, nor can they communicate with the deceased…..rest assured that whatever happens during those ‘supposed’ moajizas is nothing but a charade, a deception, a con-job, and a falsehood created and invented by unscrupulous and devious men who strive to hinder mankind away from the Straight Path of Allah Subhanah!

In all probability, the people who claim to be possessed by Jinns are mere actors and/or con-artists, who collaborate with the local ‘holy-men’ whose livelihood is attached to the throngs who visit the shrine to witness the supposed ‘moajizas’……and the two of them have their pockets filled and have a hearty laugh at the expense of the unsuspecting witnesses like you and me!!!!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verses 34-35 :

O you who believe! There are indeed many among the priests and the holy men who devour the wealth of others by evil means, and debar the people from the Way of Allah. Give them the good news of a painful torment, who hoard up gold and silver and do not expend these in the Way of Allah. The Day shall surely come when the same gold and silver shall be heated in the fire of Hell, and with it will be branded their foreheads, their bodies and their backs. (And it will be said): “Here is that treasure you had hoarded up for yourselves! Taste now the evil of your hoarded treasure!”

Respected sister, we absolutely assure you in light of the clear Guidance of the Holy Quran and in the Blessed Name of Allah Subhanah…..these supposed ‘moajizas’ where the person possessed by the Jinn holds the stage, and declares his conversation with the dead/alive, etc. is an absolute falsehood which has nothing to do with the Truth Declared in the Quran and the Sunnah.

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
