Memorizing quran keep secret.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Alsalam Alaykom Wa Rahmat Allah..

It has been a year since i devoted my life wholly to Allah and i am starting to memorize wholly quran to strengthen my Iman. I`m however faced with a very hard decision. Sometimes i get the feeling that I`m not memorizing the quran for Allah but for the people around me who will definately be delighted to hear it.

Is it halal to tell other people that i am memorizing it or is it better to keep it as a secret?

Answer:

Memorizing quran keep secret

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 270-271:

270 And whatever ye spend in charity or devotion be sure Allah knows it all. But the wrong-doers have no helpers.

271 If ye disclose (acts of) charity (or any good deed one does for the Sake of Allah), even so, it is well; but if ye conceal them and make them reach those (really) in need, that is best for you: it will remove from you some of your (stains of) evil. And Allah is well acquainted with what ye do.

Respected brother in Islam, as long as you made the intention to devote your life to the Cause of Allah Subahnah only to earn the Pleasure and Good Will of your Lord…..there is absolutely no harm if you choose to disclose your good deeds to your loved ones, or you to chose to conceal them…..for your Lord is He Who Knows even the deepest secrets of your heart! Although it is always best that one strive to conceal the good that they do, there is absolutely no harm if for a genuine reason, one has to disclose their good….especially if it serves as an inspiration for someone else to also emulate you and do good for the Sake and Cause of Allah Subhanah.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 17 Surah Israa verses 61-65:

61 Behold! We Said to the Angels: "Bow down unto Adam": they bowed down except Iblees: he said "Shall I bow down to one whom Thou didst create from clay?"

62 He (Iblees) said "Seest Thou? This is the one whom Thou hast honored above me! If Thou Wilt but respite me to the Day of Judgment I will surely bring his descendants under my sway, all but a few!"

63 Allah Said: "Go thy way; if any of them follow thee, verily Hell will be the recompense of you (all); an ample recompense.

64 Lead to destruction those whom thou canst among them with thy (seductive) voice; make assaults on them with thy cavalry and thy infantry; mutually share with them wealth and children; and make promises to them.” But the Shaytaan promises them nothing but deceit.

65 "As for My servants no authority shalt thou have over them." Enough is thy Lord for a Disposer of affairs.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verses 11-18:

11 It is We who created you and gave you shape; then We bade the Angels bow down to Adam and they bowed down; not so Iblees; he refused to be of those who bow down.

12 (Allah) Said: "what prevented thee from bowing down when I commanded thee?" He said: "I am better than he: thou didst create me from fire and him from clay."

13 (Allah) Said: "Get thee down from this: it is not for thee to be arrogant here: get out, for thou art of the meanest (of creatures)."

14 He said: "give me respite till the day they are raised up."

15 (Allah) Said: "be thou among those who have respite."

16 He said: "because Thou hast thrown me out of the Way, lo! I will lie in wait for them on Thy Straight Way.

17 Then will I assault them from before them, and behind them, from their right, and their left: nor wilt Thou find in most of them gratitude (for Thy mercies).”

18 (Allah) Said: "Get out from this disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee, Hell will I fill with you all!”

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 35 Surah Fatir verse 6:

6 Verily the Shaytaan is an enemy to you: so treat him as an enemy!

Respected brother in Islam, the evil and accursed enemy of man, the Shaytaan has taken a promise unto himself to lie in wait and take man away from the Straight Path of Allah Subhanah…..and Allah is our witness brother, nothing bothers the accursed Shaytaan more than to see a slave of Allah worshipping their Lord Most Gracious, Most Merciful!!! He will leave no stone unturned in his efforts to take this worshipper away from the worship and the obedience of the Lord.

Rest assured brother that after you have made your intentions to serve your Lord, and you do the necessary striving to fulfill your noble intention in the service of your Lord…..it is none but the evil and the accursed enemy of man, the Shaytaan, who comes and whispers doubts into your heart regarding the authenticity of your intentions and your devotion….for the Shaytaan just cannot bear to accept that a slave of Allah has chosen to worship the Lord.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verses 200-202:

200 If a suggestion from the Sahtyaan assail thy (mind), seek refuge with Allah; for He Hears and Knows (all things).

201 Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from the Shaytaan assaults them, (immediately) bring Allah to remembrance; when lo! They see (aright)!

202 But their brethren (the Shayateen, strive to) plunge them deeper into error and never relax (their efforts).

Respected brother, whenever such evil thoughts or doubts are whispered into your heart which discourage or stop you from doing any good in the Cause or Sake of your Lord, recognize them as the work of your accursed enemy and the enemy of Allah Subhanah….the evil and the accursed Shaytaan….immediately seek refuge in your Lord from the Shaytaan, and seek your Lord’s Help and Support…..it is expected that your Lord will guide you aright.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
