Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

My question is very straight for you just wanted to  ask you that we have full faith in quran and its preaching and if one does not have faith  in quran he is not a Muslim at all………. My question is that do you only preach by quran and you do not consider any other teaching as its reference like Prophet Mohammed (saw) family after him was the other example for humanity why you do not give references of them in any of you preaching .

If you could answer my question I would be very obliged

Answer:

Reference to progeny of prophet(saws)

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 185:

Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent down: this Book is a Perfect Guidance for mankind and consists of clear Teachings which show the Right Way, and are a Criterion of the Truth and falsehood.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah Nahl verse 89:

We have sent down to you this Book, which makes everything plain, and is a guidance, blessing and good news to those who have surrendered themselves entirely.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisa verse 79-80:

We have sent you (O Mohamed) as a Messenger to mankind, and Allah’s witness suffices for this. Whoever obeys the Messenger, in fact obeys Allah, and whoever turns away from him, he will be accountable for his deeds. Anyhow, we have not sent you (O Mohamed) to be a guardian over them.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verse 31-32:

O Prophet, tell the people, “If you sincerely love Allah, follow me. Then Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, for He is All Forgiving, All Merciful.” Also say to them, “Obey Allah and His Messenger.” And if, in spite of this, they do not accept your invitation, warn them that Allah does not love those, who refuse to obey Him and His Messenger.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzab verse 21:

There is indeed the best example for you to follow in the Messenger of Allah, for every such person looks forward to Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah much.

Sahih Muslim Hadith 1885 Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah

That the Prophet of Allah (saws) said in a sermon: “The best speech is that which is embodied in the Book of Allah, the Al Quran; and the best guidance is the guidance given by me, Mohamed (saws). The most evil affairs are the innovations, and every innovation is an error.”

Respected brother in Islam, the Glorious Quran was completely revealed and the Sunnah or example of the Messenger of Allah (saws) was completely established before the death of the Noble Messenger of Allah (saws). Time and time again Allah Subhanah has Commanded and Guided the believes who wish to follow the ‘Siraat al-Mustaqeem’ or Straight Path to obey and follow the guidance of Allah and His Messenger (saws). No person, absolutely regardless of their rank, or piety, or righteousness, etc….absolutely regardless of whether they happen to be the noble and chaste wives of the Prophet (saws), or his noble companions, or even his own noble family and progeny had the right to change or alter even an iota of the deen which was revealed and completed upon the Prophet Mohamed (saws)…..these noble souls who came after him (saws) were themselves bound to scrupulously adhere to and follow the Commands and the Guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah themselves!

Thus as pious and as righteous the noble family of the Prophet (saws) were, they too followed the Sunnah or example of the Prophet (saws)…..thus when there is more than sufficient evidence and reference available in the Glorious Quran and the authentic and established Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws) in almost every aspect and matter of the deen, there is indeed little need for the believers to refer to the example of a secondary source when one has direct access to the primary sources of guidance, the Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet (saws)!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 134:

They were a people who passed away. They shall receive the reward of what they earned, and you shall have the reward of what you will earn. And you will not be questioned as to what they did.

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
