Answer:

Significance of moon and stars

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His  forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

May Allah Subhanah reward you with the best of this world and the Hereafter for your kind comments of encouragement for our humble efforts in the propagation of the Truth. We humbly hope, beg, and pray the Merciful Lord accept our humble and weak efforts, forgive us our shortcomings, and save you, us, and all the believers from the torment of the Hell Fire. Ameen.

Every creation of Allah Subhanah is created for a purpose and subjected to serve mankind in ways which might be known to us, or unknown. The Sun, the Moon, the Stars, and all the other heavenly bodies are amongst the creation of Allah Subhanah and His Signs unto mankind. Each serves mankind in various ways. For example, the sun provides light and heat across the earth, etc.; the moon provides light at night, determine the tides of the seas with its movements, etc.; and the stars beautify the skies at night, provide landmarks for travelers, etc. They serve mankind in forms that may be known to us, and in forms that remain unknown to man and science!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah Nahl verses 12:

12 He has made subject to you the Night and the Day; the Sun and the Moon; and the Stars are in subjection by His Command: verily in this are Signs for men who are wise.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verses 96-97:

96 He (Allah) it is that cleaveth the daybreak (from the dark): He makes the night for rest and tranquility, and the sun and moon for the reckoning (of time): such is the Judgment and ordering of (Him) the Exalted in Power the Omniscient.

97 It is He (Allah) Who maketh the stars (as beacons) for you that ye may guide yourselves with their help through the dark spaces of land and sea: We detail Our Signs for people who know.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah Nahl verses 16-18:

15 And He (Allah) has set up on the earth, mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and rivers and roads; that ye may guide yourselves

16 And marks and signposts; and by the stars (men) guide themselves.

17 Is then He Who creates like one that creates not? Will ye not receive admonition?

18 If ye would count up the favors of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verse 54:

54 Your Guardian-Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six days and is firmly established on the Throne (of authority): He draweth the night as a veil over the day, each seeking the other in rapid succession: He created the sun, the moon, and the stars (all) governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!

Whatever is in the heavens and the earth is created by Allah Subhanah, and He has subjected these creations to serve mankind in various and unimaginable forms, some of which are only coming to light to mankind through modern science even until today! These creations of Allah Subhanah are Mighty Signs for mankind to recognize the Magnificence and Perfectness of their One and Only Creator; and submit and bow down to Him in absolute awe and humility!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 31 Surah Luqmaan verse 20: Do ye not see that Allah has subjected to your (use) all things in the heavens and on earth and has made His bounties flow to you in exceeding measure (both) seen and unseen? Yet there are among men those who dispute about Allah without knowledge and without guidance and without a Book to enlighten them!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
