Sister wishes to revert to shia muslim.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Dear Brother,

As I told you that I want to become a musilm and follow Islam, what is the right way to choose the religion.

There are sunny and shias, I want to follow the shia muslim.

Please advice :

I am wrong by doing this? because I was first motivated by a shia and the person I am in love and will lead all my life is a shia.

But not a single sunny muslim is able to help me when i said i want to be a shia muslim.

Are they not good? Being a shia I cant perform my duty as a muslim.

Then why is this difference.

Please help me what is the proceedure to become the shia muslim.

Sister wishes to revert to shia muslim

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Respected Sister in humanity, if your intention to revert to Al-Islam is only to pursue your ‘love’ for the man, or to obtain any benefit for yourself in the life of this wolrd…..then indeed sister, your are well within your rights to do whatever it takes to fulfill your worldly intention.

But if your intention to accept Islam is because your heart has confirmed it to be the Truth from your Lord Creator, and because you wish to tread a path which leads to the Mercy, Grace, and Forgiveness of your Lord and thus success in the eternal life of the Hereafter, then you need to look no further than the Guidance of only One Book which the Lord Creator Has Himself revealed for the Guidance of all mankind: the Al-Quran.

Respected Sister, it is indeed unfortunate that even though all the muslims declare belief in The One Lord Creator, in Prophet Mohamed (saws) being the Last and Final Messenger, and in the Glorious Quran being the last and final Revelation of the Lord Most Gracious….the ignorant amongst them have succeeded in dividing the Muslim nation into various man-made and self-invented sects like the Shias, Sunnis, etc. We absolutely assure you in the name of the Blessed Lord, neither Shias, nor Sunnis, nor any other sect for that matter find mention or merit in Islam!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 30 Surah Rum verses 31-32:

This (Islam) is the right and true faith, but most people do not know. (Be steadfast on this) turning wholly and sincerely towards Allah Alone, and fear Him, and establish the Salat, and do not be like the mushriks (polytheists), who have set up their separate creeds and divided themselves into sects, each sect rejoicing in what it has."

Allahs says in Chapter 42 Surah Ash-Shura aayat 13

He (Allah) has appointed for you the same Way of Life (Al-Islam) which He had ordained for Noah, and which (O Mohamed (saws)) We have now revealed to you, and which We had already enjoined on Abraham and Moses and Jesus, stressing this: " Establish this Way (Islam), and be not divided in it.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 45 Surah Al-Jathiyah verse 17:

Then they differed amongst themselves after the knowledge (of Islam) had come to them, only because they wanted to wrong one another. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning the matters in which they have been differing."

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah Hajj verse 77-78:

O you who have believed, do ‘rukooh’ (bow down) and do ‘sajdah’ (prostration), and worship your Lord Allah Alone, and do righteous deeds: it may be that you attain true success! Exert your utmost for the Cause of Allah, as one should. He has chosen you for His service, and has not laid on you any hardship in your religion. Therefore, be steadfast in the religion of your father Abraham. Allah had named you ‘muslims’ before this, and has named you (muslims) in this Quran also, so that the Messenger may be a witness in regard to you, and you may be witnesses in regard to the rest of mankind.

The believers who truly believe in Allah and the Last Day are satisfied to be recognized by the name their Lord Creator has chosen for them; ie. ‘muslims’….and they find absolutely no reason to add a Shiah or Sunni prefix to the name chosen for them by none other than their Lord Most High, Most Supreme!

Thus my respected and beloved Sister, we reiterate again, if your intention to accept Islam is only to pursue your ‘love’ for the man, or marriage, or any other benefit which the acceptance of Islam may bring unto you in the life of this world…you are well within your rights to do as you please. But if your intention is to accept Islam because your heart believes it to be the Truth, and because you wish to attain salvation in the Eternal and Everlasting life of the Hereafter, then the one and only answer to your search is the sincere contemplation of the Very Words of the Lord Creator, the Glorious Quran.

As your sincere well-wishers in humanity, our humble advice to you is not to make a decision regarding your change of faith, or the sect which you wish to follow….until you have read the Book of Guidance revealed by your Lord Creator with understanding, even if only once.

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
