One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

AsSalaamu Alaikum

I want to marry a Hafiza girl (though I'm not that good practicing Muslim) but people say that It will be a difficult life or one may be afflicted with some hardship if she forgets the Quraan due to family life & responsibilities (since I don't want family planning and all) ....  Do we have any Ahaadith related to this ?

I need an urgent clarification, Please guide me ASAP.

Please try to understand that the Question is not demanding but the situation is.

Answer:

Marry quran hafiz

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Firstly, although it can be expected that one who has taken the effort to memorize the whole of the Glorious Quran to memory would be a God-fearing and pious person, there is absolutely no guarantee that every person who has memorized the Glorious Quran to memory is pious and righteous.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.27 Narrated by Abu Huraira

The Prophet (saws) said, "A woman is married for four things, i.e., her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. So you should marry the religious woman (otherwise) you will be a loser."

Although it is permissible for the believers to choose to marry any chaste ‘non-mehram’ woman from amongst the believers and the ‘People of the Book’, the Messenger of Allah (saws) guided the believers to seek to marry righteous, pious and God-fearing woman….and if one finds a righteous, pious, and God-fearing woman to marry who has secured the whole of the Glorious Quran to her memory….one could not have made a better choice.

Sahih Muslim Hadith 3465 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As

Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘The whole world is a provision, and the best object of benefit of the world is the pious woman.’

Your Question: ....  Do we have any Ahaadith related to this ?

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 6.552 Narrated by Abu Musa

The Prophet (saws) said, "Keep on reciting the Quran, for, by Him in Whose Hand my life is, Quran runs away (is forgotten) faster than camels that are released from their tying ropes."

The Messenger of Allah (saws) guided the believers who had taken the effort to memorize a part or the whole of the Glorious Quran to keep on reciting the Quran so as to refresh their memory….for it is only natural that if one does not recite what they have memorized from the Glorious Quran on a constant basis, it would be forgotten.

To the best of our knowledge, there is absolutely no such ‘hadith’ in the authentic and established records of Sunnah that one who has been blessed to memorize a part or whole of the Glorious Quran and subsequently forgets a part of it would bear any sin, or would be afflicted by a calamity or hardship for their memory lapse. And Allah Alone Knows Best.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
