They believe a new messenger has arrived, Baha`u`llah has arrived and brought his scriptures which focus of unity and world peace.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

According to the Baha`i Faith, Prophet Muhammad was the seal of all prophets but not the seal of the Messengers.

They believe a new messenger has arrived, Baha`u`llah has arrived and brought his scriptures which focus of unity and world peace. They accept all major religions before them i.e. islam, judiasm, christianity, hinduism etc.

Are Muslims waiting for a saviour? According to Shia Islam, the 12th Imam is in waiting and will rescue the world when in chaos, the Bahai`s believe the 12th imam has therefore come in the form of Baha`u`llah.

Please clarify.

Answer:

Pm is last prophet and messenger

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Statement: According to the Baha`i Faith, Prophet Muhammad was the seal of all prophets but not the seal of the Messengers.

Regardless of the belief of those who have chosen to call or recognize themselves as followers of the ‘Bahai’ faith…..the believers are more than content to call themselves and be recognized as ‘muslims’, putting their unconditional belief in the two divine sources of Guidance: the Glorious Quran and the authentic and established Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws).

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 40:

40 Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he (saws) is) the ‘Rasool’ (Messenger) of Allah and the Seal of the ‘Nabis’ (Prophets): and Allah has full knowledge of all things.

Idrees (a.s.), Ayyub (a.s.), Yunus (a.s.), Yahya (a.s.), Zakariyyah (a.s.), etc. were ‘Nabis’ (Prophets) but not ‘Rasool’s (Messengers)…..but Ibraheem (a.s.), Isa (a.s.), Musa (a.s.), Mohammed (saws), etc….were ‘Rasools’ as well as ‘Nabis’! The office and rank of a ‘Rasool’ (Messenger) is obviously higher than the rank of a ‘Nabi’ (Prophet); and in light of the absolutely clear guidance of the Glorious Quran, although every ‘Rasool’ is without an iota of a dobut, also a ‘Nabi’, every ‘Nabi’ is not a ‘Rasool’……

If Allah Subhanah had indeed declared that Prophet Mohamed (saws) was the Seal of the ‘Rasools’ (or Messengers), indeed there would be a possibility of the coming of ‘Nabis’ or Prophets after him…..but the All-Knowing, All-Wise Lord, in His Perfect and Absolute Wisdom has categorically Declared in Truth that the Noble Prophet Mohamed (saws) is the Last and Final and Seal of the all the ‘Nabi-een’ (Prophets)….thus the question or condition of believing in the advent of a ‘Nabi’ or a ‘Rasool’ after the Last and Final Prophet Mohamed (saws) does not even arise!

Your Question: ……They believe a new messenger has arrived, Baha`u`llah has arrived and brought his scriptures which focus of unity and world peace. They accept all major religions before them i.e. islam, judiasm, christianity, hinduism etc.

After the absolutely clear guidance of the Glorious Quran which categorically Declares in Truth that Prophet Mohamed (saws) is the Last and Final Prophet ……to believe in the advent of a new Prophet or Messenger to arise is to go against the clear guidance of the Glorious Quran!

The believers who have chosen to put their unconditional trust belief and obedience in the Guidance of the Holy Quran and the authentic and established Sunnah of the Last and Final Messenger of Allah, Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws) categorically, unequivocally, and without any reservation whatsoever deny and reject the claim of the ‘Bahaii’ faith!

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.735 Narrated by Abu Huraira

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said, "My similitude in comparison with the other Prophets before me, is that of a man who has built a house nicely and beautifully, except for a place of one brick in a corner. The people go about it and wonder at its beauty, but say: 'Would that this brick be put in its place!' So I am that brick, and I am the absolute Last of the Prophets."

Musnad Abu-Dawud

Reported Jabir bin Abdullah that the Prophet of Allah (saws) said: “Through me the Prophethood was brought to a close.”

Narrated in Muslim, Tirmidhi, Ibn Maajah.

Reported Ubayy bin Kaab, Abu Said al Khudri, and Abu Hurairah, that the Prophet of Allah (saws) said: “I have been distinguished from the other Prophets in six things:

  1. I have been endowed with eloquent speech,
  2. I have been succoured with awe,
  3. Booty has been made lawful for me,
  4. The earth has been made a mosque for me as well as a means of obtaining purity,
  5. I have been appointed a Messenger for the entire world,
  6. And, with me, the office of Prophethood has been closed.

Reported by Tirmidhi.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said, “The line of Prophethood (Nabi) and Messengers (Rasools) has come to an end. After me, there will neither be a Prophet nor a Messenger.”

We bear witness in the Truth Declared by our Lord Creator and His Messenger (saws) that Prophet Mohamed (saws) is, without an iota of a doubt, the last, final and the seal of all the Prophets as well as the Messengers of Allah Subhanah; and the believers of the Quran and the Sunnah categorically disbelieve in the advent of any Prophet or Messenger after the death of Prophet Mohamed (saws)!

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
