Answer:

Feed wife dates paste

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 2.578 Narrated by Anas bin Malik

I took 'Abdullah bin Abu Talha to Allah's Messenger (saws) to perform ‘Tahnik’ for him. (Tahnik was a custom amongst the Muslims that whenever a child was born they used to take it to the Prophet (saws) who would chew a piece of date and put a part of its juice in the infants mouth).

Your Question: Please tell me what the meaning is when the husband wishes to feed the wife dates (in a paste form).

There is ample and sufficient evidence in the authentic and established Sunnah that the believers would take their new-born to the Messenger of Allah (saws), and the Prophet (saws) would chew a piece of date and puts a part of its juice in the infant’s mouth.

To the best of our knowledge there is no specific meaning or significance in Islam when and if the husband wishes to feed his wife dates in a ‘paste’ form; but if one wishes to do so, there is no harm and no restriction.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
