Answer:

Adam first muslim Ibraheem

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Dear and beloved brother, it is absolutely incorrect and inaccurate to say or believe that the deen or religion of ‘Islam’ was revealed for the first time to Prophet Mohamed (saws), or that Prophet Mohamed (saws) was the first ‘Muslim’! Allah Subhanah revealed the religion of ‘Islam’ with the very first human being who was sent to this earth, Prophet Adam (a.s.); thus in light of the clear guidance of the Glorious Quran, the Truth is that Prophet Adam (a.s.) was the first ‘muslim’.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 30 Surah Taha verse 122

122 But his Lord chose him (Adam (a.s.)): He turned to him and gave him guidance.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale-Imraan verse 33:

33 Allah did choose Adam, and Nuh, the family of Ibraheem, and the family of Imraan above all people.

All the Prophets who came after Prophet Adam (a.s.) (ie: Idris (a.s.), Nuh (a.s.), Ibraheem (a.s.), Ishaaq (a.s.), Ismail (a.s.), Musa (a.s.), Isa (a.s.), etc.) were all also ‘muslims’ and followed and propagated the same deen of Al-Islam.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verses 83-90:

83 That was the reasoning about Us which We gave to Ibraheem (to use) against his people: We raise whom We will degree after degree: for thy Lord is full of Wisdom and Knowledge.

84 We gave him Ishaaq and Yaqoob: all (three) We guided (to Al-Islam): and before him We guided Nuh, and among his progeny Dawood, and Sulaimaan, and Ayyub, and Yusuf, and Musa, and Haroon: thus do We reward those who do good:

85 And Zakariya and Yahya and Isa and Ilyaas: all in the ranks of the righteous:

86 And Ismail and Elisha and Yunus and Lut: and to all We gave favor above the nations:

87 (To them) and to their fathers and progeny and brethren: We chose them. And We guided them to the Straight Way (of Islam).

88 This is the Guidance of Allah: He giveth that Guidance to whom He pleaseth of His worshippers. If they were to join other gods with Him all that they did would be vain for them.

89 These were the men to whom We gave the Book, and Authority, and prophethood: if these (their descendants) reject them behold! We shall entrust their charge to a new people who reject them not.

90 Those were the (Prophets) who received Allah's Guidance: copy the Guidance they received; Say: "No reward for this do I ask of you: this is no less than a Message for the nations."

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah Hajj verse 78:

78 And strive in His (Allah’s) Cause as ye ought to strive (with sincerity and under discipline): He has chosen you and has imposed no difficulties on you in religion; it is the cult of your father Ibraheem. It is He (Allah) Who has named you ‘Muslims’ both before (in the Previous Divine Scriptures) and in this (Glorious Quran); that the Messenger may be a witness for you and ye be witnesses for mankind!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 130-132:

130 And who turns away from the religion of Ibraheem but such as debase their souls with folly? Him We chose and rendered pure in this world: and he will be in the Hereafter in the ranks of the righteous.

131 Behold! his Lord said to him: "Islam’ (Bow thy will to Me)" He (Ibraheem (a.s.) said: "Islam-to” (I bow my will) to the Lord and Cherisher of the universe."

132 And this was the legacy that Ibraheem left to his sons, and so did Yaqoob (who said to his children at his death-bed); "O my sons! Allah hath chosen the faith for you; then die not except as ‘Muslim’."

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah Nahl verses 120-123:

120 Ibraheem was indeed an example, devoutly obedient to Allah (and) true in faith and he joined not gods with Allah:

121 He showed his gratitude for the favors of Allah Who chose him and guided him to a Straight Way (of Islam).

122 And We gave him good in this world and he will be in the Hereafter in the ranks of the righteous.

123 So We have taught thee the inspired (message) "Follow the ways of Ibraheem, the true in faith, and he joined not gods with Allah."

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 127-129:

127 And remember Ibraheem and Ismail raised the foundations of the House (with this prayer): "O Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us for Thou art the All-Hearing the All-Knowing.

128 O Our Lord! Make of us ‘Muslims’ bowing to Thy (Will), and of our progeny a people ‘Muslim’ bowing to Thy (Will); and show us our places for the celebration of (due) rites; and turn unto us (in mercy); for Thou art the Oft-Returning, Most-Merciful.

129 O Our Lord! Send amongst them a Messenger of their own, who shall rehearse Thy Signs to them, and instruct them in Scripture and Wisdom and sanctify them; for Thou art the Exalted in Might, The Wise."

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale-Imraan verses 64-68:

64 Say: "O people of the Book! Come to common terms as between us and you: that we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not from among ourselves Lords and patrons other than Allah." If then they turn back say: "Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's will)."

65 Ye people of the Book! Why dispute ye about Ibraheem when the Torah, and the Gospel were not revealed till after him? Have ye no understanding?

66 Ah! Ye are those who fell to disputing (even) in matters of which ye had some knowledge! But why dispute ye in matters of which ye have no knowledge? It is Allah Who Knows and ye who know not!

67 Ibraheem was not a Jew, nor yet a Christian, but he was true in faith, and a ‘Muslim’ (who bowed his will to Allah's), and he joined not gods with Allah.

68 Without doubt among men the nearest of kin to Ibraheem are those who follow him, as are also this Messenger (Mohamed (saws)) and those who believe; and Allah is the Protector of those who have faith.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale-Imraan verses 84-85:

84 (O believers) Say : "We believe in Allah and in what has been revealed to us (Quran), and what was revealed to Ibraheem, Ismail, Ishaaq, Yaqoob, and the Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Musa, Isa, and (all) the Prophets from their Lord; we make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we bow our will (in Islam)."

85 If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah) never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good).

In light of the above absolutely clear guidance of the Glorious Quran, it is absolutely evident that the deen and religion of Islam was revealed by Allah with Prophet Adam (a.s.), and every single Prophet who came after him also followed and propagated the same deen of ‘Al-Islam’. With the advent of the Last and Final Prophet, Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws), Allah Subhanah simply completed and perfected the same deen of ‘Al-Islam’ which was followed and propagated by every Prophet of Allah, but with the passage of time was changed and altered by the people.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verse 5 (part):

(O you who believe:) This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I (Allah) perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you, and have chosen for you ‘Al-Islam’ as your religion.

Thus in conclusion brother, Prophet Ibraheem (a.s.) was indeed a ‘muslim’ and he was not born thousands of years BEFORE the advent of Islam; but in light of the above absolutely clear guidance of the Quran, Prophet Ibraheem (a.s.) was born thousands of years AFTER the advent of Islam!

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
