I would like to know whether manpower supply business is haram or halal.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
I would like to know whether manpower supply business is haram or halal like i have few employees where we have job in our workshop we some time send people outside for hourly basis charge .we are giving salary on monthly basis if we send people outside we will charge our customer on hourly rate
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)
Manpower supply business
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Provided the work done by the manpower your company supplies is lawful and does not indulge in any of the prohibited commodities (facilitating alcohol, gambling, fahisha, riba, etc.), there is absolutely no restriction in Shariah in operating or running a manpower supply business.
Provided none of the laws of Shariah are violated, there is absolutely no harm if one wishes to employ manpower on a salary basis and allocate or distribute them to work elsewhere on a seconded basis, whereby your customers would be charged on an hourly rate for the work done by the manpower your company has supplied.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and well wisher in Islam,
