I really appreciate the work u do .I really got to knew so many things through this website well my question is that Alhumdulillahi am engaged but as u said in answer that engagement has no legal basis in Islam..any ways .Both of our parents asre aware that we talk to each other

well we no longer want to wait now as we both want to get our lives started with each other the problem we are facing right now is that his parents want to wait for another two years as my parents want me to get married as soon as possible he tried to talk to his parents but they want me to finish my degree studies please help me give us a solution as 2 years is a vry long time

Nikaah now marry later

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Dear and beloved sister in Islam, the only lawful solution which would allow you and your fiancé to meet and talk to your hearts content is to convince your parents to perform your Nikaah as soon as possible, and solemnize the marriage at a later date even if it be after two years.

This way the wish of both parties: you and your fiancé, and that of your parents will be honored.
